I have been using wordpress for years but I have never seen this problem.

I had WordPress installed and I needed to change the domain and move it to a different directory. No problem, changed the Domain in the MySQL DB and then moved things around. No problem. The site was still loading and everything. But I was unable to log in. Every time I tried to I would be rerouted to domain.com/not_found so I tried clearing my catch, cookies everything. No luck. So I uninstalled it and tried with a clean install with softaculous, no change so I tried a manual install (Downloaded WP from WP.org) problem installing it. It will not advance. So I filled in the config file. Still no luck. So I got an older version of WP and still no luck. I have tired with three different browsers (FireFox, IE, Chrome) no luck. Then I tried it on a different host and it works fine.

This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.

Thanks for any help.

There's no hosting account attached to the forum account you are posting, and you did not provide an URL, which makes it rather impossible for us to check and assist.
If you do not know what forum account is attached to the hosting you can see information, and if you wish change the linked forum account, if you login to the portal and go to "Get Support" -> "Visit Forums". This will provide you with information about currently linked forum account as well as give you an option to switch to another existing forum account.
This might be of help however: http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

Sorry I blanked out about that. xiw.x10.mx is my account domain but the Domain is I am working on is the24ontour.org.

And the changing of the site URL is no help since I started over. Clean DB and User.

And I just linked my accounts.

I get "There doesn't seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started."

Yes because I am trying to install it with out using softaculous to see if it works. But if you click on "create a configuration file" it will not do anything. Just like if I were to install it with Softaculous, when I try to log in or anything "/not_found" get's added to the end of the URL and nothing happens. I have looked, everything is where it needs to be.

Are you starting the site from scratch?

When I started I just moved a WP site to a different domain. When it would not let me in after trying everything I could think of I uninstalled and deleted it.

Then I installed it again with softaculous and I was having the same problem. So I tired uploading the files and install it myself and still having the same trouble.

I installed it at http://xiw.x10.mx/ using softaculous and as you can see, it navigates alright but I can't get into the dashboard.

Sorry I am trying to describe it as best I can.

I would uninstall WP and then use Softaculous to install it in your custom domain.

Hey topher1991.
I understand what you are explaining.
You have installed WordPress using the C-Panel Auto Installer Softaculous and also tried installing WordPress manually. Still you cant get to the admin section.
The manual method is to 1st create a Database from C-Panel MySQL Databases, add a user with full privileges to the newly created Database.
Upload WordPress files into Public HTML and access you site from http://xiw.x10.mx
Follow the prompts to have WordPress config to the new Database and site name, admin username and password etc.
There's a lots of tutorials on Google (how to install wordpress manually on cpanel) I think you already know how to work with WP.

What I have noticed of late, is the Data Base server must be getting a hammering (I guess from the popularity of WP) and it's extremely slow. My WordPress install (test environment) was doing weird things too.
When I came back to it at another time it worked with no changes from me. I did notice that the data base server was a lot more responsive. Going into PHPmyAdmin and only navigating around it was a Lot quicker than previously.

Hey topher1991.

Upload WordPress files into Public HTML and access you site from http://xiw.x10.mx
Follow the prompts to have WordPress config to the new Database and site name, admin username and password etc.
I have done what you said. Created a MySQL DB and User using MySQL MySQL Database Wizard and set it up in the config file. The problem is when I try to install it myself I can not "create" a wp config file and when I take the WP config-sample and edit that and remove the "sample" from the file name (like your suppose to) then I get nothing but an endless loop that does nothing but gives me a warning on my browser stating that it's an endless loop.

The problem is as follows.

Trying to log into WP with http://the24ontour.org/wp-login.php redirects to http://the24ontour.org/not_found/ so I am unable to log in. I am able to "log in" via http://the24ontour.org/wp-login.php?dqt6ivg2uz6twewlgmkxn but it's does not look right and after I "log in" it redirects me back to http://the24ontour.org/not_found/ and does not log me in.

Same with trying to access wp-admin with http://the24ontour.org/wp-admin/ and it also redirects me to http://the24ontour.org/not_found/.

Interesting one this, did a bit of poking around but so far nothing has shown as a logical cause. I'll be doing some more poking around though, hopefully be able to sort it all out for you.

Appears that the issue was within the .htaccess you had in the initial install of wordpress, the one you still have the files for in the public_html folder.

I renamed the .htaccess there to .htaccess.bak (which disables it) and the login page loads up properly now when I check.

My guess is it was the part that came from the plugin "Better WP Security", I'd say it is very likely that was the cause of the problems you initially had with changing the domain for the site as well, while it may be a good plugin it would probably need some reconfiguration as well upon changing domain. And since the addon domain is in a subfolder of public_html it appears that it also came in play for that one.

Thanks for your help and fixing it. I tried looking for the .htaccess file but I was unable to find it.
