I have gone through this forum searching for a solution to a problem that I am having but could find none. I just recently installed ZenCart and all seemed to be in order until I started running dummy orders through the system to see where I would have to modify, test, etc. Turns out that any email that is created and sent out as a result of an order (confirmation of order) is never received by the customer. Used a variety of email addresses and went so far to change settings in Zencart from the "PHP wrapper" to sendmail and even sendmail-f. Sendmail returns errors, so that isn't going to work. PHP wrapper does not, but once again customer never gets the confirmation of their order through email. Ironically, if I manually type an email through ZenCart and send it, it seems to work fine. I also receive an "admin" copy of the order confirmation with no problem. What am I missing here?

Sort of found out by trial and error what the problem is but don't know quite how to fix it. Noticed in the manually created emails I sent nothing but text. The order emails contain links to the original order. Anything with a link in it is going through Zencart as if it has processed correctly, but is never getting out. Have an autoresponder as well and found out same to be true: All emails go out with an unsubscribe link. No one has been receiving the confirmation for the subscription. Remove the link, and all of a sudden emails go out fine. Hmmm...... so now the question becomes, how do I fix the html/link glitch that seems to freeze any mail sending in its tracks?

Did you find out how to fix your issue? I have just installed Zencart and am having something similar, but different. The customer gets the order confirmation, but I am not getting a copy (so I don't know what has been ordered!). I would also like to change the text in the email, but can't see where to do so.
Cheers

Chris:
Unfortunately I have not found a solution to this problem. Even after hours of Internet searching. contacting hosting support, and a bit of trial and error on my own modifying some code, I have not been able to correct the problem and have since moved on to another provider which doesn't have these types of problems. Only thing I've been able to determine for sure is that the links are definitely a problem when email is sent as a result of being called from a script.

Just to clarify: the problem has nothing to do with the hosting service. Seems to be an inherent problem with including links within ZenCart self-generated email or autoresponders that reply on placing links within the responses, etc. Tried same programs with a different hosting service and receive same results. Have since switched to other programs that do not have this type of problem. Do realize that the support is volunteer for the most part, they are doing their best, and do appreciate the fact that hosting services such as yours are out there.

Hey gifts4go,

I'm very sorry no one was able to look at this for you. Our staff is mainly volunteer-based, so we do the best we can.

Chris:

Can you open up a new thread about your issue, and we'll try to diagnose the problem.

Thanks for your replies!

Thanks Neil - went to open a new thread, and re-checked my settings to find a typo in my email address! All seems to be working now!
Cheers
Chris
