wow i just got a 360 and its very good no problems or nothing. Just as fast. But check this Microsoft recently added a Benq quieter dvd drive and a new 65 nm heatsink chipset to withstand the heat better. It also has more powerful fans so eat 360 u ps3 fanboys. Ps3 is a hackers dream. Xbox is Online Gaming and Next-Gen to the fullest.

33% is the official report.

*sigh*

You've been severely mislead if you think that those are "official" numbers.

There has been anecdotal evidence that suggests such a failure rate, but MS hasn't said what the failure rate was since circa mid 2006; where they said it was around 6%. Admittedly, its proably higher than that now, but there has been very limited evidence to support any other numbres.

But anyway, if it develops problems (that are not your fault) just send it back to MS. Even launch consoles are still covered for the 3 red-lighs.

That was quoted from Gamepro magazine. Either October or November 07. 33%. I've seen several other reports matching, but that was the one that was print and not online.

More likely than not, some of it is the users, after all you can't put it into an enclosed area and expect it to not overheat some...none the less ps3 doesn't have the reports that xbox has had.
