it will definently phase out eventualy i would go to windows 7 pro or ultimate because they have xp mode built in and is compatable with most windows xp programs even without xp mode.

i dissagree. it is not your computer, it is not legaly yours, you have no right to remove any software or install software therefore, the piece of software installed by your employer must stay. also, if you do work around it or uninstall it, then you could be potentaily fired or worse.

i would go for the 12 cell as it is more power but what ever you do, don't buy used, used batteries are usualy old ones that someone is trying to get rid of for the same reason you want a new one.
