I think "FTPS" is just something we don't support, and we haven't seen enough user demand for this to warrant setting it up. Normal FTP is all most users require.

You can try "FTPS" and "FTPES" but I'm not sure if they will work, they may not be configured server side. Do not use "SFTP", as that will get you blocked.

Generally if they can't access the server directly, but it works find through a proxy, they are blocked. Although they should flush DNS first to make sure.

Yes, there are automated systems in place to protect the servers from attacks. The OP probably triggered one by repeatedly trying to login using WinSCP.
