I like lightbox and thickbox, but what I think is ThickBox is fore people with fast internet connections, and lightbox is for light internet connections, because thick takes a more significant time for me to load images.

It also depends on your coding expertise and level to modify functions, skin the forum, and add plugins etc., A few of the forums for wordpress aren't THAT bad, they just need to be worked on...

I think it's just the login boxes that is messing everyone's page up...

I see the problem. Try reducing the width of your Login boxes and search boxes. That's why my page looks different from yours *attaches image*

Haha, I randomly pressed answers on all the questions the first time I took an IQ test, it gave me 210, but I got most of them wrong, I made up for it for answers that were made in less than one second. I'll try a real IQ test and update my score soon :0

Also make sure that the user has permissions to access that database. It's often overlooked on new installations using DB software.

I think that the navbar is wayy to long for the page, it stretches it out too wide, and their isn't even content covering that stretch. Maybe you could make the nav bar a little shorter?

Try making the image rollovers easier to load, because they sort of slow the load time for the website in general. The color scheme and layout look decent, better than average, and the layout is decent. I guess it's pretty good for a start :) 7.8/10

What was the previous prefix? If you don't remember go check your databases and if they all have this common prefix replace the vb_ value with that common prefix. It should work.

When I'm editing my sites, I usually use the built in thing by Dreamweaver, or this plugin for Wordpress that allows FTP access. When I'm not using either of those, I'm probably using FireZilla, which is the probably best way to go for the Linux techies.

On my windows computer I did it every 6 months or more, because I cuoldn't stand the slow internet speeds. Linux, me... I use LiveCDs and their not that bad, I've had the OS I am currently using for 2 months now and I'm not planning to reinstall anytime soon.

you need it to be $config['Database']['tableprefix'] = "vb_"; it doesn't have to be "vb_" but you should choose any simple two or three letter combination followed by an underscore. that's the prefix for all the mysql tables for the software, so i hope you didn't install yet.

The only people who think x10 sucks are the people who can't use x10 for crap (people who don't know how to use cPanel, etc.,)
