the issue i am seeing is Could not connect to MySQL not access denied [edit] all i can say is doublecheck everything. If you can, Post your mysql connection details(except for the password) and maybe we can learn something from that

are you using localhost?

connecting to an external MySQL database should. Check firewalls on the machine/network with the mysql server. Corporate networks/firewalls tend to be very touchy on external connections.

what exactly is your setup? are you using x10 to receive mail, or have you setup your own MX records?
