    anybody use snort?

I haven't used Snort, however Snort is simply a packet sniffer which analyzes traffic on a network. Snort can be used to detect some forms of Malware (typically the noisy ones) based on their traffic patterns.

    Unable to unsuspend my account

Your forum account doesn't seem to have any account tied to it. An account manager should see this shortly to see what is going on.

    MySQL Databases Limit

Something just appears to be a little bit messed up. You shouldn't need to delete any databases. I just checked my cPanel on Lotus and I seem to have a mysterious database sitting in there. I have only two databases tied into my account, and the only other thing phpMyAdmin shows is...

    Hate VS Love

Well, I can say for a fact that hate is always around since there are always conflicts with things or people in anyone. Love is however a much more vast and powerful force than hate is.

    How fast is your processor?

Was your netbook built before the time of the Atom processor? My 11 year old laptop has a Pentium 3 clocked at 600Mhz.

    Laptop Battery

For those of you seeing decreased battery life, have any of you tried a manual deep dischage and full recharge? I do have an 11 year old laptop which still has it's original battery and it manages 2 and a half hours of life, half of that if the CPU and/or GPU are busy. The battery has developed...

    SAT's

Oh, I didn't mean such a thing in that sense, I assure you. Once I'm more settled over something I just read about a secret copyright agreement that's being written up behind the world's back, I'll post up what I really meant.

    Help, required

Depending on your upload speed, I've found x10Hosting's FTP to crap out if files are left uploading for more than 10-15 minutes. What may help is if during the upload process you reload the folder in which you're using. On some of the more troublesome servers I've had to upload thousands of...

    White box again !!

Use FileZilla or Windows Explorer for FTP. Cracked FTP clients are without a doubt virus infested 98% of the time. While you're at it, go to www.malwarebytes.org, download and run that scanner. Update it via the Setup program as well. Run the full scan, give it a few hours if you have a slow...

    Left 4 Dead 2

Tell me about it lol. Right now I'm also saving up some money to upgrade my older PCs in the home to some new hardware, as well as to completely rebuild my Linux router into a dual-core Atom based system. I'm almost done with that, but certainly I can decide to spend my money on Left 4 Dead 2...

    Lockerz "How Much Longer" Calculation

Well, this will certainly be useful. I recently got an invite to Lockerz and I did register at the site. I have yet to see what kind of things they have to offer but I'll put this calculator to use.

    FTP hosting?

For the most part, you're best going off with a PHP script which will fetch a particular file for a user of your site as Garret pointed out. There is a Public_ftp folder which you can try to use, though I'm positive anonymous FTP is disabled here at x10Hosting. Besides, FTP can be a messy animal...

    SAT's

Well, the SATs don't cover much at all. Just English and Math (two fields which I know many people aren't the greatest in) mainly. What the colleges really need to look at are your traits, personality as well as how motivated you are towards the subject the person in question wants the college...

    Left 4 Dead 2

Has anyone here loaded up the Demo on either Steam or from Xbox Live? It was released yesterday and ever since then, I've been getting tons of messages about people inviting me to join. I have been running Left 4 Dead 2 servers here at home (slowing down my torrents in the progress) so if anyone...

    OMG, I been hacked

You just reminded me of a very funny IRC chat I've come across on other forums. 127.0.0.1 is the perfect trap for them script kiddies who don't know a thing or two about networking (half of them don't I'm sure).

    OMG, I been hacked

I wouldn't say it's a mistake, but if it's a Dynamic IP address it would at least prevent someone from viewing your site until their IP changes. If this "hacker" is in fact really a hacker who is devoted to trying to take your site down, they will eventually get back in. This case looks to be...

    Own server?

What Sharky said. Also, if you get a VPS, it's still not a "Dedicated Server" like what you're wondering here, but owning a VPS does guarantee you resources as well as give you complete control over your operating system of choice. You can consider it a dedicated server in that case.
