I don't think there is an easy way to do it. You could use .htaccess, but you will have to be careful because you could get undesired effects.
Why do you want to hide the extension?
FireFox, Thunderbird, Portable Apps, WinRAR, Audacity, Winamp, AllwaysSync'n'Go, PuTTy, KeePass.
That's quite a long list, and I've probably missed one or two programs.
Try placing a image called 'favicon.ico' in you public_html/ folder. This image needs to be 16x16px, and in the .ico format. There are loads of web-based generators around to help you make your icon (Search for 'favicon generator' on Google).
In my opinion it is not a sport but a game that involves thinking and strategy. I define a sport as 'a game/activity that involves physical activity', whereas I define a game as 'an activity that passes time'.

That is because the script is written for a UNIX operating system. You can ignore it if the script still works. If the script doesn't work you will have to edit out the bit of the script that checks whether the files have been CHMODed.
