right , you can try to start with memory first , before going for HDD problems, HDD problems would sometimes make a sound. Random BSOD's are most likely caused by memory sticks and incompatible memory sticks

as a friend of mine says, content is king ... I have a website myself that needs promotion but i do not have time to write content to it, i am disciplining myself to write and come up with good content, in that way people will easily find you on the net. think of content that matters to most people

I'd say its way better than the lower versions of windows particularly Windows Vista, interface is very clean , bootup time is down to at least 28secs , shutdown times way faster than vista. the way it handles new devices has been greatly improved as well as support for wireless

I bought my processor 3 years ago , a year after , I got to assemble everything , right now the factory settings for the proc is @2.2Ghz , E4500 , I have pushed it to 3.0Ghz, running quite stable on Windows 7 :)

You might also want to try updating the BIOS to newer version , some of the BIOS instructions will have updates for the hardware to lower down consumption of power and reduce heat. As others say as well you might want to try clearing out the air vents and use compressed air when cleaning

did you try to do battery calibration to sync between your laptop and OS power management stats ?

I am running E4500 default clock is at 2.2Ghz and OC'd it to 3.02Ghz. :)
