Re-enable Raw Access Logs in cPanel

Should I infer that your reply indicates that the raw access logs will not be re-enabled on free hosting? If so, I need to know so I can get started setting up an account with GA and Sitemeter to get the all of info the raw access logs provide. Pleas let me know. Thanks.

    Raw Access Log not updating

I have nothing against google, I simply don't want to 1) add unnecessary code to my site to get some basic data. 2) rely on a third party to provide the information that they decide to provide. 3) lose the ability to pick and choose the information about my site's traffic that is important to...

    Raw Access Log not updating

Actually, the only thing I'm complaining about is having something taken away that was there before, and even then, I'm not complaining, I'm merely making a query. I really don't want to go editing all of my pages to get the information that comes with every browser request. The more "stuff"...

    Geeks Make the Best Lovers?

Ah Ha!!! You have hit the nail on the head. I don't think most people can be completely "pigeon-holed" into any one "label" Once upon a time, I belonged to Toastmasters International. The first speech a new member has to give is called "The Ice Breaker", in which you get to talk about the...

    Raw Access Log not updating

The data written in the raw access log comes in with every browser request. You're trying to tell me that writing to a text file uses more overhead than serving up javascript or sending one pixel gif requests with long parameter strings to the GA server? Why do you think Google recommends...

    Raw Access Log not updating

It does require that data be sent to google, meaning overhead. Additional code must be executed for each page - meaning overhead, not to mention calling an unnecessary additional javascript which has to load on the user's machine, whereas the raw access log simply writes data that is already...

    Raw Access Log not updating

OK, thanks for looking into it. I'll go ahead and make a post in the Feedback & Suggestions board to ask for it to be re-enabled and to recommend analyzer solutions other than Google Analytics (way too much overhead compared to a simple log)

Re-enable Raw Access Logs in cPanel

Before the migration, the Raw Access Logs function was enabled on free accounts. Now it is disabled. This is a built-in feature in cPanel, that uses minimal overhead, and is much more efficient/consumes less resource, than the alternative using Google Analytics. I'd like to suggest that rather...

    Raw Access Log not updating

It was enabled and worked fine before the migration, and I simply used deep log analyzer to download and review the logs - this is a much less resource intense method than Google Analytics - which I believe has gotten some accounts suspended for resource overuse. I understand not enabling...

    Raw Access Log not updating

I check my raw access logs and they are not updating. The last update was Jan 29. My cPanel config has both check boxes checked so that it is supposed to archive every day and delete the previous months archive. Is there a back-end tweak needed since the migration and cPanel upgrade?

    You wouldn't steal a CD...

I really can't see the logic in that whole argument. If it is crap - i.e. not worth paying for, then people wouldn't want it, via legal or illegal means. Obviously, if "crap" like *Twilight* was an absolutely worthless POS, then people wouldn't pay to see it in theaters, buy the DVD, or bother...

Which is best free forum software? PHPBB3,SMF,AEF,XMB,Mybb

I chose phpBB because, as a forum participant on a lot of different forums, I settled on phpBB3 for my own forum because of the mods. The 'vanilla' phpBb is nice as-is, however, with a few tweaks and the addition of a few select mods, it can be whatever you want it to be. I may at some point...

    Suspensions

You have to log into the forums here every 30 days. Don't have to post, but a good rule of thumb is to at minimum browse to the news and announcements board - this lets you know if there is something you need to know, and lets the system quickly recognize that you have logged in.

    Homepage down

You may be able to view it by simply flushing your computer's DNS cache - here is the knowledgebase article with instructions: http://kb.x10hosting.com/questions.php?questionid=16 Give it a try and see if that takes care of the problem.

    Thank You

I have also noticed, now that we are on the new server, noticeably faster page load times. Again, great job, and thank you for all the time and effort!

    Thank You

Many thanks to Corey & Co. for the long hours they put in to get all of the Chopin accounts transferred after the glitch with the DC. Great work gang!

    Chopin Expidited frustration????

Dude, I'm just a member that uses the service and here's my take... x10 has a great free service, right now, however there is an issue that came about because, being a great hosting service, they are upgrading the servers to a more up-to-date archetecture that will make all of our sites work...

    Starka/Chopin problems

2000+ accounts is a lot to re-do after the glitch with the DC. I notice posts from Corey during the wee hours of the morning, so I have to guess he's not getting a whole lot of sleep while they're working to get everything back online. We know there is a problem, we know it's being worked on...
