Change X10 Sub-Domain to Your Owned Domain

Just trying to be helpful, as were you. I don't think I have a reading impediment, but info does get lost sometimes in all the gray text in these posts. My comments were not meant as a personal attack on you or the obvious effort you put in. They were meant as a helpful guideline, gleaned from...

Change X10 Sub-Domain to Your Owned Domain

Not bad. One note to newbies like me, though: Whenever someone is referring to the AMP, they mean the account management page. This is the page you get when you browse to "www.x10hosting.com" and log in. Might seem like a minor quibble, but it is an effective practice to never assume your...

    anyone play EVE?

I messed around with it a bit, but seems to me the most fun you could have would be joining the goon fleet and raising hell with ppl who take it too srsly.

    What's Better?

I am willing to sacrifice disk space to keep my site free of ads for now. I hope to get some income that justifies a pay plan eventually.

    Repost: jdwinfodesign.com, email, Cpanel down

Mail server is refusing connection, cannot see the Web site, cannot log in to CPanel, and now the forums ate my first post. Any idea how long until all this is straightened out?

Cannot log on to CPanel, Web site down, email connection refused

My entire X10 Hosting setup is unavailable as of 11:06 a.m. CDT, Saturday, Aug. 23. Is this caused by the upgrades?

CGI email furnished for free hosting

I logged into CPanel and was poking around to see what was what. I already have a CGI Perl script for email, but noticed there is an executable in my cgi-bin that is linked to from the CPanel->CGI Center->CGIEmail link. The link target is the following URL...

Ubuntu, still on Feisty Fawn (7.10). I have XP partitions on desktop and laptop. There is no way I am using Vista if I can keep from it.

    Coolest game

I really got hooked on the X series of space games. X2 had a decent story that actually taught you how to use all the interface features, but would let you go off and do your own thing for a long time. With X3, they addressed most of the complaints about the previous game (laggy combat, mainly)...

What is your favorite line in any movie?

The movie I have quoted the most lines from is "Raising Arizona." Mostly it's the pretentious dialog from the loser-ish characters and the deadpan, serious delivery of the actors. Some favorites: "Work's what's kept us happy." "The Lone Biker of the Apocalypse, with the powers of Hell at his...

Hai Brandon. Just posted a free hosting issue regarding the Matt's FormMail script and a 500 error. I changed the permissions as directed for x10hosting, and modified the script and form page until it quit throwing errors and I had my config correct for it. I included the urls to pertinent...

CGI Perl email form 500 error

I uploaded a forms page, success page, and the FormMail cgi script from the following url: http://www.scriptarchive.com/formmail.html The form on this page: http://jdwinfodesign.x10hosting.com/email_form.html ...is pointed at my version of the script (the only changes are the values for the...

    Permissions without Web Disk

No prob about the port. I played around with it a bit and got the connection. As long as the connection is secure, that is really all I care about. Eventually, there will be some info going across it that I would like to keep secure. I am assuming that is the case, since it is a TLS/SSL connection.

    Permissions without Web Disk

Followed the directions, with one exception--I could only get a connection by leaving the port number field empty. The FileZilla log says it connected on port 21 using a TLS/SSL connection and a certificate. I am curious as to how many Linux users have been able to follow the cPanel Web Disk...

    Permissions without Web Disk

Yep. That works. One concern, though. FileZilla connects on the default port (21). Forgive this n00b, but how secure is this? It will not connect to the SSL port for Web Disk (2082, I think; I copied and pasted from the cPanel page, so I know it was the right one). Any quick tips on how to...
