    There would technically be no DNS to remove, just change the NS settings at your registrar, that is all that you need to be doing to change the DNS to somewhere else. Once the name servers are changed, and propagation has occurred properly, ours would not even be asked about your domain anymore.

    Admin area is always unaffected from the theme you chose. A plugin could cause it however.

    The default page is index.html, if I'm not mistaken .html takes priority over .php so if you have both an index.php and an index.html, the html version would show by default.

    Could you please take a screenshot showing the issue? The only dropdown I have in wordpress itself regarding adding new plugins is weather to search by tag, author or keyword right next to the input field for searching for a new plugin.
