It is quickly done by creating/modifying your .htaccess file. Add this line: Options -Indexes If you're editing using the cPanel file manager, you'll need to enable viewing of dotfiles.

Is your internet connection fairly stable? I've had a test account on starka for a while now, and have never had any issues with cPanel. You could try appending :2083 to your main domain.
