If you logged onto cPanel or used FTP and you used the address chopin.x10hosting.com, that might be the problem. Apparently the migration has created two sets of files. Going in via the server name accesses the "old" files. Updates do not show. [at least this is what happened on lotus earlier]...

If you write the .htaccess manually, there should be no problem. Think they are talking about the cPanel directory protection feature (which uses .htaccess ), not .htaccess in general. Edit/Add... on second thought, I see on the web that Frontpage wants you to do it "their way" and messing...

How are you accessing the files? FTP or cPanel? What address are you using to get there?
