get a hardware firewall like a router, that would solve half the problems right there. Don't believe me ! Go get a router and hook it up to your system, then uninstall all your anti-virus software, then sit back and see what happens. :) Nothing, absolutely nothing, that's because HARDWARE firewalls keep out virtually everything and they are built into most routers.

NOD32 for now it's oky!

But in the end my opinion that thouse who sell anti-virus are making them becouse there will no be nead to buy them if they don't exist, becouse i think that moust of hacker are noot soo bad and they don't target a small people like us!
ONE OF FUNNY SIDE OF ANTI-VIRUS IS THAT EVERY OF THEM WHO SELL IT KNOW WHAT VIRUS WILL CAME TOMOROW AND THEY SAY (TOMOROW THE VIRUS NAMED BLUE DISASTER WILL CAME AND HE DAMAGE ALL PC BLA BLA BLA... BUT OUR ANTI-VIRUS WILL BLOCK HIM TO GET ON YOUR SISTEM)

It's more that stupid that people belive at that, and i don't think that hacker will send them an e-mail and say HEY DUDE I GONA SEND A MASIVE VIRUS TO WHOLE WORLD or maybe a postcard

I don't care much for Norton. I've always had good experiences with AVG, McAffee, and ZoneAlarm. (Not working all at the same time of course.)

And for purely spyware, I'd recommend Spybot S&D and AdAware, they work great together, and they work WELL!

I am looking to buy anew Internet Security Suite. Money is not an option seeing my dad is buying it for me. Can anyone reccomend some good ones and their features?

Thanks.

Well, they all are pretty rubbish to be honest . I use AVG free edition :dunno: though if you are interested.

AVG is good for its price. Go for NOD32 if you want performance. Avoid crap like Norton or McAfee. However, Symantec Antivirus Corporate, I've heard is also OK if you can get your hands on it.

For spyware, Spybot S&D + Windows Defender.

Norton and McAfee are crap they dont work well with UD's and trust me i know as i am in a large community of secruity related issues, can not post link as its against the TOS, otherwise most Anti-Virus are crap and most good ones are the smaller companies, i use linux so im pretty much save and i do alot of virus checking on Win32 as well.

Trust me never buy Norton or McAfee

I have avast! home edition working along with Spyware Blaster and McAffee SiteAdvisor. I think avast! is the best.

I use a wonderful bundle of stuff; Panda Internet Security 2007 and a Hardware wirewall.

I think its probably unrivaled in terms of protection.

Anyone know of a good site that tests to see if a router is correctly setup to block the bad things and allow the good?

Only route ports to your PC that you're gonna have applications on (24/7 / All time pc is on)? (Only server-mode applications, not Internet Explorer)

I like trend micro internet security, i find it much easier to configure than norton, though its hard to find in canada, so you would likely have to order it from the states.

try Norton 360.

this is a good runner and choice.

The Previous Norton Internet Security are way hogger and 360 is a rebuilt and better one.. plus you get data online backup.. and AVG isnt quite user friendly as oppose to Norton360....

Mcfee isnt good virus detection... def problem.. so ya..

maybe if you want, get Kaspersky AV + Comondo Firwall (free), it's more worthy
