Trying to help a friend sort out a WordPress site outage. Weird issues;
When I look at the themes folder via ftp, one theme is different from what shows in cpanel:
FTP: theme 1, theme 2. File Manager: theme 1, theme 3
Changes I make in ftp don't show up in cpanel.
I uploaded a default 2014 theme folder via ftp and it doesn't appear in file manager.
X10 user id is dirincel, site is dirinc.us.
Any ideas?
(I did double check to make sure I'm looking at the right account!)

x10hosting recently implemented a different web-server-software setup on their free-hosting servers - which is a combination of the Apache web server and the Varnish cache server
the cache server maybe why there is a delay before you 'see' the file - after you upload it

staff has said - to override [ Varnish cache ] try adding the following line to your [ .htaccess ] file(s)
Code:
Header set Cache-Control "max-age=0, private, no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate"

Thanks for the quick response. I have come across the caching issue and did add code to the .htaccess file - not that exact code you mentioned but something that's worked for me before.

Hi,

This was related to a problem with our login servers a couple of weeks ago. I've pointed your account back to the illuminated server, as it should have been.

I've noticed that your domain is using GoDaddy's Nameservers. We also recently moved the illuminated server to a new box, and its IP address changed. You will need to update your A record to point to 162.253.224.37

Also, if you're missing any data because of the mix up, please let me know and I can get it for you.

Thanks for your help. I am the owner and my friend who was helping last evening is at work now. I changed the IP and the page is blank. Also, 4TDoor.com which is a sub to also down.
BTW, what are the NS records for future reference.

Hi,

Sorry that you were having trouble with our self-switcher. I've manually switched your cPanel theme to x3. :)

Thank you,

Thanks - can access cpanel again and see the domain is associated correctly. There's another site in a directory in the account that is working fine but dirinc.us just gets:
"This website is temporarily unavailable, please try again later."
Any other ideas what's wrong?
this sub domain works so I don't think it's a dns issue:
4tdoor.dirinc.us

Hi,

It appears that your site is not loading right now due to the following PHP errors:
Code:
[09-Jan-2015 07:25:47 UTC] PHP Warning: require(/home/dirincel/public_html/wp-includes/session.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/dirincel/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 122
[09-Jan-2015 07:25:47 UTC] PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/home/dirincel/public_html/wp-includes/session.php' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php55/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php55/usr/share/php') in /home/dirincel/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 122

Thank you,

Nope - now there's no public html directory or any sign of either site. This is turning into a disaster.

Wait, if you can't find it but @Dead-i can, then could it be on different servers or something?

When you login to FTP, what folders ( / files) do you see and at what path?

Dead-i was looking earlier - since then both site installs have disappeared from the Illuminated server. They were supposedly moved a week or so ago which is what caused the problem.

I've checked out the logs and also restored the account. It looks like someone logged in cPanel on the 9th and deleted the files and addon domains, the IP that did this does not match the one you posted with so I'm assuming your friend may have done this? Maybe they were trying to sync the data between the other account and thought by clearing off this one and removing the domain it would fix it.

Can you login to the account and check if everything is there and working as it should?

Hey Corey - Thanks a bunch. Yes everything has been restored! I think the site owner panicked when the site went down due to the Illuminated move and deleted domains without realizing the implications.
