Terms of Services.

The Terms of Service is a contract you agree to during registration that states the policies you must follow in order to use x10Hosting.

We also have an Acceptable Use Policy AUP

You are required to agree to the Terms of Service if you wish to use x10Hosting's services. Individuals or accounts that break the policies outlined in the Terms of Services will be banned or suspended. It is highly recommended that you read the Terms of Service carefully.

Stay secure while getting support.

To stay secure while receiving support, follow these simple guidelines:

  • NEVER post any of your passwords under any circumstance. This includes cPanel, FTP, webmail, and database passwords.
  • If you post your email address, write it un-completed in some way (such as replacing @ with "at" and . with "dot", or placing a space between each character). This protects your email address from spam emails.
  • Generally, the Community Helpers and staff will not ask for cPanel username or Account ID numbers, as we already have access to this information. It is recommended that you only post your cPanel username if you are asked for it by a Community Helpers or staff member and are given a reason for why it is needed.
  • When posting code, be sure to remove all sensitive information (such as usernames, passwords, email addresses, and personal data).
  • Remember, when you post something at http://community.x10hosting.com, EVERYONE can read it!

Server cannot be found.

In the most of the cases it happens when some of the x10 services are down.

Please be patient and wait. If After 24 hour your website is still offline you should create a Support Ticket about the issue.

Question not listed here?

If your question is not listed, you can try searching for a solution at the Free hosting Wiki, or by using the forum search feature to find previous related support tickets.

If you are unable to find a sufficient answer in the Wiki, please create a new Support Ticket

If you think something needs to be added to the FAQ, please PM me.

Thread closed without answer.

Some staff members post before closing a support thread explaining why the thread was closed, while others don't. If your support thread was closed without a reason given and you did not get an answer to your question, it may be because:

  • There was nothing posted for over 3 days in that thread.
  • There was off-topic discussion.
  • The original poster was being disrespectful or extremely inconsiderate.
  • There was an unnecessary argument or posters were flaming.
  • The question was already answered and no further discussion is necessary.

Please note that all staff members have the authority to close threads or delete posts for any reason they see fit.

If you believe your support thread has been wrongly closed, you can create a new one. Please note that misuse or abuse of the support system can get you infracted or banned.

What is escalation?

Escalation is a process by which community helpers and staff move your support thread to the ticket area. This is usually done because there is nothing that community helpers can do about your problem, either because they were told so, or because they tried to solve your problem, and couldn't. We escalate the ticket usually when solving the problem requires access to the server.

The ticket area is accessible at https://x10hosting.com/control/index.php?support&requests and has a list of all your opened and closed tickets, past and presents. Support thread show as "Community" tickets, and all the other ticket types are escalated tickets. These tickets are viewable only by you and staff, so that staff may help you further, and protect your personal information.

How to access SSL

Free hosting accounts no longer have SSL, please buy a Premium plan or a VPS to have SSL support.
