I just applied for free webhosting, and I activiated my account. But I didn't get any information about how to upload my website.
I can log on to control panel, under which there are "Setting&Options", "Private Message", "Subscribed Threads" and "Miscellaneous".
how can I upload my website?
what's wrong with my situation?
help me please. I am nervous?
thank you a lot

Looks like that's the control panel for the forum.

Check your email for an email that your hosting account has been created. If you have that, then follow the link there.

I can't log onto Cpanel for some reason, even though my account has been confirmed... anyone know why?

The wrong username or password?? Which? The account panel? Or the webhosting CPanel. You should try claiming your lost password or something...

I'm going to bite on this also.

When you first did your sign up, you should have done the following (someone please correct me, if I'm wrong here)...

"Step 1." Put in the name of the subdomain/domain that you wanted (for example mysite.x10hosting.com), and check for availability. Then decide whether you wanted the Ad Enhanced or Ad Free plan. There's some other information in Step 1, but I can't access it without signing out first.

"Step 2" **** This is the one you're concerned with***** You needed to select a Username and password, then put your e-mail address in there. If you selected the "Ad Enhanced" package, you needed to decide what type you wanted. (Static, Dynamic, or Corporate). Then you needed to fill in your personal information. (Also you needed to check for availability of the username).

"Step 3" First of all, you needed to read the TOS and click I agree. Then you needed to sign up at this forum, and activate that account (this forum). You need to put the Username and Password that you signed up for this forum in the space, and submit the order.

You should have received four e-mails from x10hosting.com. The first one was to activate the forum Username/Password. The second one was to confirm your forum membership (Welcome to x10hosting forums). The third one should be to confirm (or activate) your actual website. Then the fourth one will verify that your site is active. The fourth e-mail is the one that you need to get your information from.

Hope this helps you out, and have a great day :)
Patrick.

Sorry to bump this extremely old thread, but I am having a very hard time getting started.

I uploaded a simple file containing "hello world" as index.html into /home/mydirectory/public_html.

It has no effect. I keep seeing "Default Web Page" in my browser when I go to my web host.

I don't see a hosting account attached to this forum account at all. What domain did you sign up for, and what username?

Anna, maybe you were checking the wrong account? You quoted the wrong post, a post from 2008. I'm the one with the problem in 2011 :)

Suppose I assumed that the one with problems was the OP, you should NEVER resurrect a thread that old, in fact you should post your issues in your own thread at all times, to avoid such confusion.

You should have gotten an email with all details regarding your hosting account, if you login at https://x10hosting.com/control using the same details as here at the forums you should see details of your hosting, such as server, hosting username (which is different from your forum account user name), you will also find a link to cPanel which is your hosting control panel. You can use the file manager in there to upload files, or you can connect to your account using ftp with the following details:

host: your main domain
port: 21 (default for ftp protocol so you probably won't need to specify that)
username: your hosting username found in your account panel
password: should same as you have for the forum account

Yeah when you do log onto your website Cpanel you can upload your website via FTP to your directory.

Do you have a link to this place ? I checked all the buttons at the top and there is nothing.

You can upload files directly from cPanel; click on the 'File Manager' button on the cPanel Homepage and click on the Upload button.
You can also use FTP to upload files, as Anna described in her post.

Log into the AIP at https://x10hosting.com/control and click on Hosting. You will see statistics related to your Hosting, underneath them click on the button that says 'Login to cPanel'.
Alternatively navigate to your main domain, but add a :2083 on the end. For example, www.mydomain.x10.mx:2083.
