MMORPG's: Whats Good? apart from WOW?

PlaneShift is pretty promising. The users are very friendly, and there's a lot of them. Once you finally escape the tutorial (damn, it goes on a bit lol) the graphics are good, sometimes laggy. The lag can be helped by patching the maps to the grassless model somebody (sorry, can't remember who now) posted a while ago. It seems OpenGL is crap at rendering lots of slow moving objects at once.

Although this game is a little (OK, very) rough around the edges, it's a good start and has a lot of potential.

Another advantage: Works on Windows, Linux and any other OS that's capable of compiling it.

because i live in Indonesia so i play RAN Online Indonesia..
and the other is RF Online..Seal Online..Perfect World..

The server is usually full, and it very hard to connect.
Anyway the play is very good and the game is very interesting.

Regardless of what some others have said- I think that Rappelz is actually pretty fun. Well balanced, and honestly I don't have that many problems with lag.
Something I've been playing a lot of lately is Cabal Online. The North American version was just released a few months ago, though the game has been out elsewhere for quite sometime. Been playing it quite a bit because it seems to be a lot more solo friendly for the most part.

Lord of the Rings Online is GREAT if you actually like the Lord of the Rings "universe" as it were. I loved the books and thought the moves were a great interpretation, the game does a good job at balancing "lore" with "action" so that you don't get to bored or to out of touch.

It also has amazing graphics for an MMORPG, I'd have to say just as good, if not BETTER than Age of Conan to some degree.

Bottom line, if you like Lord of the Rings, you'll love Lord of the Rings Online.

You don't need to be a boy to play RuneScape. I just quit a week ago and I see plenty of girls online (and guys wearing skirts which is kinda creepy)

I don't like Dofus, but you should give it a shot. It is definitely unique.

I would play GW if it worked on a Mac. LOTRO isn't free, so I wouldn't play it.

Not sure if this was mentioned before in this topic, but if you are a Stargate Fan, Cheyanee Mountain Entertainment is making the MMO game, Stargate Worlds which I'm highly anticipating. There is an Alpha beta out that forum members of their site got, but it's as buggy as heck.

Granado Espada is a beautiful MMORPG with MCC control.

That's the SEA version, there is also a NA version called Sword of the New World.

I played Granado Espada for a while too and it was pretty nice. The multi-character control takes some getting used to.

Guild Wars was another one of my favorites. What can beat group dancing .

Everquest II is the way to go. It has a great story, great gameplay pace and a great range of classes, races and skills. http://everquest2.station.sony.com/

WoW is right up there with EQII.
I've heard good things about Guild Wars.
FFXI is pretty lame imo outside of it's nice graphics.
Anarchy Online was the worst online gaming experience I've ever had.
The people I've known that know gaming well have said bad things about Runescape.
Rappelz is just ok. Flyff the same.

I always wanted to play LOTR online. There is also another fantasy game online that I've wanted to play, Linieage II I've always thought looked good.
