I am starting up a small IT consulting company. I am planning on use the no ad free service.

I am just looking to build a small website with a brief bio and contact informaotion for clients.

thanks!

That (from what you said) seems to be perfectly within the TOS. You can host here for commercial purposes, even on the free servers. Good luck!

great, if I have to I would pay for hosting, but free is always nice.

Is there a problem with hosting and allowing visitors to download a small .exe (less then .5mb) It is a remote help tool I use to connect to client's computers?

As long as it is not warez or a virus, it is fine =)

I recommend reading the TOS for the following reasons:
1) So you feel less restricted.
You can do pretty much anything with your account, it has relatively few limitations.
2) You are bound by the TOS, not by my word
If I have misinterpreted the TOS, I wouldn't want you to take the fall back.

For those reasons, this forum is mostly for help understanding it :)

thanks, i read through the ToS, and have a good idea of what they say.

I was more or less asking for real world examples.

The only thing i would say for the remote access tool, is that you link to the download's main website, e.g. if it's teamviewer, then link to the teamviewer download page. Not only will this show that you aren't trying to infect people, but it will also make your users feel more comfortable downloading an unknown .exe to their PC from an official site. :)

Also, keep in mind that you need to login once every 31 days to these forums to keep yourself unsuspended

Thanks, thats generally a good idea. However I will be using UltraVNC with Single click. So I'll need to compile a special .exe with my server's IP and encryption key. I am not too worried about showing clients I am not trying to infect their computers, since I would be the one called into fix the infection.

Will this be a problem?

No, i am well aware of how UltraVNC works, i know that there isn't an issue with the .exe's. In this case You'd be permitted to upload it. Also, we don't just suspend for .exe's, suspicious exe files are investigated and scanned first. So there wouldn't be any issues with a custom compile hosted on your actual site. :)
