Ok im sorry, Almost every forum software has a contact button so potential members etc. can send mail to the Owner/Admin/Webmaster. This is typically the email address of the Owner/Admin and is chosen in the setup of the software itself.
In my case that is aquariumforums1@gmail.com
However NO mail that is sent from my site is ever delivered. regardless if it is from the contact function, or the option to send email directly to other members.
This really sucks when it comes to keeping in touch via the email functions.

That depends on what the email script is doing. The "From" header of the email must be an email account belonging to your site's primary domain, otherwise it will be discarded silently by the outgoing spam filter. If the script is configured to use an external email address (either the users' email addresses, which is often the case on a contact form, or your own external address), then the mail will not be sent.

That sounds serious :) can you please put that into terms a semi- dumbo can understand, what can i do to fix it is guess is my question?
would setting up a forwarder in the CPanel work, or what ?
I can see where that might help as far as the contact button goes, but how can you set it up so that other members can email each other or me as the Admin.
It sounds like that would be impossible due to the way X10 configures their spam settings ?

I hope what im hearing is NOT that the mail function is basically useless on X10 :(

Normally you can configure the software to either use smtp (in which case you'll want to use an email account you have set up in cpanel for credentials) or to use the "default" mail function, which usually sends with your base account without needing to specify any credentials. All depends on the script however.
