yea must say i am lucky to have a relatively faster connection in my country. well, bcoz i live in IIT Guwahati.

fyi, internet connection costs in well developed countries are very low. i remember i had a 100mbps connection from singnet when i was in singapore. the year was 2003, i guess.
100mbps is $50 here. 1000mbps is $147.
I only pay $2~(98 rupees) per month in India(Using Aircel).I pay about ~30 dollars a month for mine. (USA) Its supposed to be 3 mbps/768kbps though.
Seriously, its damn cheap. 4mbps is $50 here, u know.
Had I been in america, my dad would have got 2000mbps line for the price he is paying here. U know what, my max speed is only 24mbps.
I pay $11. I'm on a 3G connection of BSNL.

compared to techairlines, mine is cheap. speed nearly similar and difference is of $19
ADD: And why in schools upload speed is greater than download speed. Do they have any special connection?
