The 24th Imagemagick thread (for phpBB 3)

Hi,
sorry, despite using the forum search I'm still confused whether Imagemagick is available or not.

Some threads say yes, some olders ones say no, the last from January ended without a result.

I would really appreciate some answer, I'm trying to install phpBB and the install procedure can't find it.

If it can't find it, then it is very likely it isn't installed or setup properly. I can't say definitively, but judging from that I would say no it isn't.

If you want to find out whether or not a particular PHP extension is loaded, use extension_loaded() (which has been covered for other extensions). To see all extensions, use get_loaded_extensions().

phpBB can install without it, it is only needed if you want to show thumbnails of images in posts (if I get it right), which can be done in other ways too, like with GD or JavaScript

Just got confirmed, ImageMagick should be installed, if it for some reason gives an error it is not let me know and we'll sort that.

So do you mean even if i only have a free hositng account, the image magick should work on my accouont?
