Uploading through Filezilla

I have just opened a new free hosting account for my website and it seems a little confusing. Can I upload my website files and folder through Filezilla or can I only upload my files through the file manager? I cannot seem to find the info needed for using FTP in my account such as ftp., user name etc. Thank you for any support you can give me on this topic.

Yes, you can use FileZilla to upload your files to your web hosting account. You can connect by using your domain name (.x10host.com) as the "Host", and your cPanel credentials for the "username" and "password". The port is 21.

Thank you for this information however I cannot seem to find my cPanel credentials. Also I have a domain name arsfilmproductions.tk that I wish to use rather than the .x10host.com and cannot seem to figure out how to change that. Can I use my domain arsfilmproductions.tk for the ftp upload of my website and what do I need to do to configure this action?

Hi,

Your FTP username is arsfilmp, and your password is the same as the one you use to login to your control panel.

You can add your .tk domain by changing your domain's nameservers to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com. Then, you can add the domain in your cPanel as a Parked Domain.

I really appreciate your help. I tried to use Filezilla and Smart FTP...both keep telling me that the client closed the connection so it will not go through and allow me to upload my website files...I have tried to configure Filezilla and when I test it, it tells me that I have the wrong external IP address or just closes the connection. This is very strange...I have used Filezilla for a couple years now and have never had this problem before...any suggestions?

This issue should be resolved. It was related to the PassivePortRange on the server being reset.

I've just confirmed again on my end that the change I made resolved the problem that was causing this.

I'm not seeing anything in the server logs that indicate the server is closing your connection. Can you please try again?

I just tried it again and it is still dropping the connection as you can see below:

I am using the ftp.arsfilmproductions.tk for the host, user name: arsfilmp and my password. I have changed the nameservers to the correct ones: ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com...I just don't understand what the problem is. I know I can upload through the file manager but that will take me weeks to do uploading one file at a time...near the end of the Filezilla info it comes to MSLD and seems to stall out..then it finally says:

Have you tried connecting to our ftp server with passive ftp?

Yes..I tried Passive and Active...neither will work...I even ran a diagnostic on my router in case it was blocking the external IP however my router is working fine.
I ran a test in Filezilla using the network configuration wizzard and it says this:

Thank you for the suggestion however I tried to log in with Filezilla using ftp.arsfilmproductions.x10host.com and username arsfilmp and my password.
I got the same thing as you can see below...it goes to MSLD then seems to stall until it times out. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
