Me too, I would use Linux if I could run all softwares designed for Windows on Linux. If some applications can run perfectly on Linux ,i won't use Windows.
Windows 7 is the best operating system i've ever use. it feels like living in side the windows os when i work with it
Grabbed a leaked Microsoft link for the 32-bit version 2 hours before the beta went live, and then grabbed a key some 4-5 hours after the beta went live (lucky refresh).
I read that someone installed Windows 7 on a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM and "ran well". Fortunately I have a similar machine which can challenge this statement, my test machine in question is a 1.3 GHz P4 and a 512 MB RAM. I plan on installing tomorrow, and if successful I'll post some benchmark stats here.
Anyone else grab the beta?
i'm still fall in love with XP SP3,,,, but it will be end soon
I got a beta copy, then the legit release.....BUT half my stuff would not work (drivers not supported) I do have a older system P4 1.8ghz with yes I am not lying pc133 ram (1.5 gigs) it is a first gen. soocket 478 board and till I got it I never knew the pc4's came with 133 ram (thought it was ddr1 min.) anyway after it would not let me use my sound card, video card (s.c is a sound blaster live 5.1 and v.c is a ati radeon 512mb x1650 pro agp 8 times pipeline) and my web cam WOULD NOT work because there are no supported drivers so I went back to my XP PRO.......besides never had a issue with it before so why upgrade???
From what I saw windows 7 is amazing but I will need to upgrade my machine to run it to its full potentional.
