    AtaArticles.com

It looks quite good, although you're padding on the left and right could be a bit larger as the content is currently almost running right up to the edge (see screenshot). Also, you do know that a jump from 20,000 to 2,809,669 is a huge jump downhill, right? A lower number is better, hence why...

Poor Uptime - My site is always down.

It's called a host tracker. So I get my numbers from a reliable source rather than guess: Year: 95.88% Month: 94.23% Week: 93.39% Whether or not X10 are running maintenance shouldn't make a difference to suspensions as the restrictions remain the same and the script will still only use the same...

    FTP to Chopin Server

It's possible that the FTP server is at its full capacity. If I remember correctly only 50 users can connect at once. I would reccommend trying again in an hour or so. If it is more persistent (i.e. Many days) then perhaps you could try a different FTP client.

Poor Uptime - My site is always down.

I has actually proven to be very effective. Any normally functioning site will come nowhere near the limits and anyone who has repeat suspensions has really got to rethink what scripts they are using. If they didn't have that rule in place, the servers would constantly be bogged down by badly...

Please review my site so far

To fix the errors, just follow the advice that the validator gives you. Most of the time it will be a simple missing tag or something. Other than that, your site has improved and all I can say is that it just needs time to develop with some more pages and info.

Poor Uptime - My site is always down.

They are also a registered business. They can be held accountable for what they say on the internet. If they promise a service that offers 99.9% uptime and they don't actually give that, then they have not fully fulfilled their end of the contract and the customer has the right to ask for a...

Poor Uptime - My site is always down.

You will not experience these same issues on a paid service. Free and paid are hosted on different servers with fewer users and get priority maintenance etc to ensure you have a very high uptime. They couldn't say '99.9% Guaranteed Uptime.' if they couldn't achieve it.

    Why so many plane crashes?!

Something that makes planes a lot safer than cars is that the requirements to gain even a PPL is very strict and requires a higher level of expertise in most aspects than your average driving license. A CPL, which is required to fly for an airline, requires huge monetary input and a real...

Apple Iphone vs Blackberry vs HTC?!

I have to agree with deltavolt, the new iPhone looks like it will be a very good purchase. Windows mobile is a OS that I have always hated after having to use it for a few months. It was slow, clunky and rather useless. The new WM 7 looks considerably better as it gets rid of almost everything...

Site not accessible in my region

Can you access other websites when your site is down? If the site is running, then nothing is wrong on X10's side.

Just to let you know, this line is very unsecure: You should read this article and follow some of its suggestions.

WP code for opening url links in new window

That's what he said it would do. If the plugin didn't work the only way I can think of to do this is to have a custom bit of code in the page loading script that replaces all links to sites that aren't your domain with new links that open in a new window. This would require accessing the source...

Can Javascript read a file to a string?

    Using that code, you'll want something like this: <script type="text/javascript"> var filePath = PATH_TO_FILE e.g. http://www.google.com/file.txt xmlhttp = new XMLHttpRequest(); xmlhttp.open("GET",filePath,false); xmlhttp.send(null); var fileContent = xmlhttp.responseText; var fileArray =...

Can Javascript read a file to a string?

You'll want to use the 'For Netscape 6' one from that page, the other two use techniques that have been superseded and do not work on all browsers.

Can Javascript read a file to a string?

Copied from my post in your other thread: Where are you looking to load your file from, is it stored locally on your computer or is it on the server? The data can be split into an array with a record for each line with

    Automatic suspension

You have to log into these forums and browse around for a minute so the server can register that you have been online. Logins to the account panel or cPanel do not count as logins in the inactivity suspension rule. They did outline this very topic in the Terms of Service that you agreed to...

    Server Slowliness

It is likely the server just has a higher load at the moment and there is really nothing you can do about that. If your site is consistently slow to load every day, I would consider looking at how big the images etc are on your site as they can dramatically slow page load times. BTW, it's...

Can javascript read a file to a string or array?

Javascript can't read local files from the users computer unless you use a form with a file input and HTML5. Even then it is a bit hit and miss as some browser do not support the required functions. If you want to load a file form the server you can use the XMLHttpRequest object and get the...

    x10hosting is too Slow

Because you are on a free server that is hosting thousands of other accounts simultaneously. In my opinion though, it is really quite fast when you compare it to many other free hosting solutions; so it is possible that the server you are on is under heavy load at the moment, I recommend you see...
