    Your uptime!

Just thought it's an interesting thing; it's why a buddy's got a pc reporting uptime 2 years. It hybernated 2 years ago, then he unplugged it. Last week he hooked it back up and turned it on - but it didn't go through it as though it was starting up from scratch, so the boot time didn't change XD

    Your uptime!

6days 23hrs 5mins 19secs since last required reboot for an update (either Antivirus, Windows 7, or other). I did notice a minor glitch though - it bases uptime on the last time the computer was fully booted. That last part is the key. Fully booted. It does NOT count restoring from sleep...

    Site Problem

Nope; it was reported on another server as well (I forget which one though). It's server-wide so it's not just your account or their account either; it might be a back-burner thing until the migrations are fully completed though, but it should get bumped back to 64mb once it's done (if not...

FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it!

Not really. Register Globals is a massive security risk and as such it is disabled by default in some version of php (I wanna say as of 5.2). It's actually currently depreciated and is scheduled for removal in PHP V6 so it won't even be possible to enable it. The main reason it's bad is it...

    Inquiries regarding after server movement..

Keep waiting; the migrations not 100% done yet so while the account should be stable, the server itself isn't, But yeah once it's done, nothing should need to get changed - nameservers will not change, but they'll have the updated ip, so the domain/ftp won't change either.

    How do i use php

PHP is functioning on the x10 servers so you'll want to try a tutorial, but there's at least one big key point I should make here. PHP doesn't work if the page extension is .html (such as index.html) - it has to be index.php or the server will not attempt to parse the php code correctly. That...

cossack server blacklisted for sending spam

Forwarded on; admins might not do much until the server move is done all the way but it's forwarded on anyways :)

Freeze this forum until after migration?

Anything's possible; whether anyone would read it or not is the question. I mean, if you look, the news/announcements forum and server status links are all above Free Hosting. There's dozens of threads in Free Hosting with the response. And users are ignoring all of that and going for the New...

Freeze this forum until after migration?

Just get us a magic button that goes next to (+ Reply To Thread): (+ Reply with link to Updates topic in News/Announcements) That'll work :)

    Thank you!

Are we seriously gunna fault him for it? I can't even bring myself to hit report to have a mod move it to the right section cause it's such a welcome change from the usual "this is down" and "that is down" when it's all due to the move to make it better :)

What should be the minimum connection speed to host my site at home

Agreed. Priya, if you're having troubles finding the data, you'll wanna hit up Google for customer experiences then. I'm on Charter Cable's 5Meg service which, even with the speed-boost thing they've added now, only does 1meg up on a good day. And yeah, it's in Charter's TOS that if I were to...

What should be the minimum connection speed to host my site at home

If I'm reading that right, you want to host the pages on x10 and the big files locally? If so continue, otherwise skip this entire post :) Most ISP's aren't big on upload and in the case of big files, to put it lightly it'll suck trying to download them off your system. It makes it easier...

    System Not Starting

I'm not much of an expert here but that seriously sounds like just a straight up psu error. Even on the pc's I've had in the past, if the cpu failed the fans still started or at least jerked somewhat before the system shut itself back off. There's a cheesy way to find out if that's whats...

    :S Help Plz

Just to add to this if you wish to dispute the suspension, you can. What I would first ask your friend though is if it happened to be vBulletin he downloaded. If it was, it's nulled if all he had to do was download it. vBulletin is a few hundred dollars to own legally.

    Script

I'm pretty sure the issue is that it's trying to open a remote connection on a port blocked by the firewall: $scport = "7950"; and $scfp = fsockopen("$scip", $scport, &$errno, &$errstr, 30); If that's the case there's nothing you can do to fix this. X10 won't open ports for free...

SQL dabases down for 3+ days (stoli)

Status shows they're still restoring; my guess is they ran into a hitch with the restore software again and are still working on getting it restored. They'll post an update if it's completely shot, although it doesn't look like that'll be the case.

    Guest Posting= Yes or No??

Also that verification codes aren't foolproof - there's a lot of bots that use services where you enter a verification code to receive access to a download. But that verification code isn't at the service in question - it's on your blog. The sad thing is I'm more than aware of the service in...
