I was just playing with some search engines, looking for stuff related to my site. And... currently having a repeat of this problem. I wanted to post an update. The problem may be due to some updates still going through (recent server changes), but verification emails have started "bouncing"...

www.nchgaming.com is currently hosted on Absolut, and I'm using an e107 CMS. I have re-activated my "banner" ad field and inserted my own banner ad, as a test. I've learned to take it all in stride. Virtually all of the ADfree servers go down for a period of (usually) no more than a few minutes at a time. The frequency at which this happens, seems to be 1-3 times per hour. I've *guessed* that something may be intentionally breaking code, to stop...

Try this... Ping your site! if it responds...it's there! Absolut is out of whack at the moment, but is still on line (Not HTTP) so the ping should still work. If that fails, open a trouble ticket. If it works...wait til the server comes back up completely.

Which server are you on? and when did this problem start? I just checked it (http://www.clor.uni.cc) from here (both ways) and it loaded up fine. However http://equip.x10hosting.com did not load, but if you're on Absolut, it may be because the HTTP is currently out.

I'll bet you that it's in your DNS settings (Where you aquired your domain name). You should see one entry for your site WITH, and one WITHOUT the "www", as well as SMTP, FTP...etc, all pointing to your IP. Hope that helps... ;)

Re: Absolut: HTTP repeatedly goes out...Why? The fact of the matter is that it is happening on a very regular basis with ALL of the free and ad supported servers. My concern is moving to a server that this DOES NOT happen to. The link for hosting prices is useless to me, because I don't know...
