I see what you're saying now. I've never heard of that being specifically blocked, but I think that it would be to curb mass spam e-mails. You can change your entire mail exchanger to another site through cpanel, but I'm not sure about what you are doing.

You can use anything you want for your mail exchanger, as far as I know.

As a positive note, Stoli has been getting better each day in my opinion. I think the maintenance on the servers is getting pretty close to done.

X10 plans on supporting GD, to the best of my knowledge. The PHP is being recompiled and GD will be included. I don't know what the ETA is on this.

try renaming your .htaccess file to .htaccess~ and see if it works. I have a feeling something is awry here.

I can't think of any functionality you need from the htaccess. As long as you didn't delete files other than those in the public_html, I don't think you could have done any damage.
