    connecting to DB with php

    if you take all of that above and put it in a function it can only be accessed from within your script. It's really pretty safe either way. I think what you're trying to do is $db_object = mysql_connect(....) because DB::Object doesn't exist

    site not loading showing some image with error

    well, unless you tell the server to do something different with DirectoryIndex, it will look for index.html, index.php, ... then default.html, default.php... until it finds a file to load or nothing. So, it's finding something, just not the right thing. I'm not too familiar with Joomla, but like...

    Function header()

    I forgot to mention, if your code has an error, warning, or notice, this counts as header output sent, because PHP sends an error message to the output and therefore has to post headers.

    site not loading showing some image with error

    That might be an htaccess file problem. Instead of using index.php for the directory index, it could be using something else. look for a file called .htaccess and look for a line in the file that has this: DirectoryIndex something.php then do this: #DirectoryIndex something.php There might...

    Can I move a domain name later?

    Yes. Your domain can be changed anytime, as many times as you like. Your main domain is changed through your X10 panel: http://x10hosting.com/panel.php and subdomains, addon domains, and parked domains are changed through CPanel. All you have to do is buy (or get for free) the domain and then...

    DOWNTIME AGAIN!? What about paid??

    I've talked to one VPS user, who seemed very happy with it, but unless you are pretty handy with the OS, it is very difficult to get it to do anything at all :P I thought I saw somewhere Corey wanted a Windows VPS, but I could be wrong. Even still, I think IIS << Apache.

    Which directory do I upload to?

    /home/{username}/public_html/ is viewable as yoursite.x10hosting.com /home/{username}/public_html/folder/ is yoursite.x10hosting.com/folder/ After you upload the file, if you look at the site and it doesn't change, clear your browser's cache. Only files named index or default will automatically...

    Function header()

    This error is usually caused by your script and not the server. If you send anything to the standard output, the headers will be sent and you cannot send them again. For example: <?php echo 'hello world'; // headers sent here ?> <?php //notice the space before the tag header(....); ?> Now...

    Need help transferring domain!

    I'm not too familiar with freehostia, but, in general, you have to change the name of the nameservers to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com They may not give you the option to do this unless you use their services. You can always get a free domain at www.co.cc

    Subdomain

    Subdomains are all handled with CPanel's subdomain tool. You have to specify the name of the subdomain, ie forum.cuddleware...., and the folder it is directed to, ie home/{username}/public_html/forum/ If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! :)

    php form

    pure html page reload adds very little to server load, but it is much faster for the user if javascript pops up an error right away. It's not that easy to learn another programming language though, especially one as tricky as JS DOM.
