Each time I sign in to my account, I get a web page with the address:
https://x10hosting.com/sso/main/main with the header Welcome back, Thom. soon after the page shows a blue button on which has the words: Open cPanel

Everything is normal and working fine up to this point!
However, when I select the blue button, I am taken to a page address:
https://x10hosting.com/sso/main/caf
and which displays the following information:

Sign in Successful
Please standby while transfer you to your web hosting account.
An error has occurred forwarding your sign in. Retry

The above page and message stops all of my progress to my account.
The only link on the new page is the word in blue, Retry, which when selected, takes me back to the previous page with the same blue button.

Thus, I can not gain access to the "cPanel" or the DirectAdmin control panel and this has been a constant result when ever I try to access my account, now for about two weeks.
I travel so I use my cell phone data to access the internet but have not been able to gain access to my account. Too, I have even tried connecting while using WiFi at several locations. Nothing seem to work to allow me to access my account.
Please, if you are able to help me with this, I would appreciate it.

Hello.

I get this message:

Sign in Successful
Please standby while transfer you to your web hosting account.
An error has occurred forwarding your sign in. Retry

and I can't see anything more, I can't get in the Control Panel.

Any idea what I may be doing wrong.

Thanks.

Hello Alan.
I think in cpanel / direct, the username is not the same (so it is for me). I presume it's the Account name of you FTP conection (but I'm not sure - si it is for me too)...

ok I'm somewhat confused too. I still log into x10hosting/login.. and my website is still listed as freedomlandusa.x10host.com .
When I logged in it said Cpanel..and that got the same message as above. What do I do now that's different?

You are correct, what you see as the ftp username in the sso page would be the DirectAdmin login username, for users that did sign up during a specific period this is the same as the connected forum username (which may or may not be what you actually use here as some could have signed up for the forums separately as well), but it is not for all users.

Just a clarification, the forum username may NOT be the same as the DirectAdmin username, it only holds true for a subset of users signed up during a period where it was automatically created to be the same and would not hold true for older accounts, or where the hosting account at some point was terminated and later a new one was signed up for with the same email address and client account.

What you see as the ftp username in the sso page would be the DirectAdmin login username, username should be the same as you use for the SSO page, but may not be true in all cases either if you have some special chars or if the password doesn't conform to what DA requires.

If the password you use for the SSO page fails, you can try resetting it to one that follows DA guidelines: A few special chars are safe to use, such as - for instance, and there needs to be both upper an lowercase letters as well as numbers.

That being said, I'll take a peak if I can figure out what is going on with the failures.

So, when I click on the open Cpanel, i get the following:
Sign in Successful
Please standby while transfer you to your web hosting account.

An error has occurred forwarding your sign in. Retry.

Which gets me nowhere.
So..once I'm on the login page..how would I get access to my site?
