Important...Help with Questions Please

It has been time since I logged here to just chat...but my time is precious.

Hello everyone, I have come today to ask for some information.
First things first, I do not know how to script. I do not know how to make great websites, I do not know anything of that stuff...I am a novice.

BUT, I am an innovator, I come up with ideas, I guess I'm a genius? haha..

Well the reason I am here is to ask for some information. Just use the information I give you to handsomely answer my question please...

I have a minimum of 50 million visitors to my site, every month, each visit from those 50 million people, would bring me at least, 10 cents, for that month.

Now, can x10hosting.com ...host that site for me, if I transfer everything over to here? I would of course pay for the hosting, and so on, financing is no matter of importance.

I have gone through a couple of hosting companies and honestly, they all laughed in my face. Well, I am here to get laughed at again...?

or, if moving my sites to x10hosting would be a drain, to everything and everyone else using it..

a. What would you suggest I do?
b. Is there an existing hosting company, capable of hosting my sites?
c. Would you suggest, I get a couple of angel/capital investors to fund our own hosting? (Once again I do not know how much it costs to run a hosting company.)

Please try to help me with my situation. If you have anything else that would help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou,

John Klyne.

I'm sure x10's premium plans can hold your site, seeing as they have unlimited bandwith. However, depending on what your site does and how many people use it at one time, you may violate resource usage policys.

In this case, I'd suggest purchasing a VPS (either from here or elsewhere, but don't discuss the "elsewhere" here). A vps could do all the things you probably will ever need, and there aren't restrictions as to how much you use (except for the limits set by the package).

In answer to your third question, it costs a lot to run a hosting company. If you were looking to do this, you'd need a fair amount of money. With cPanel, billing systems, servers, etc, it would cost a lot. Especially since you (I'm assuming) are also a novice at Linux computing and managing services and servers. So I'd say starting a hosting company is not only silly, but not needed.

50 million visitors doesn't mean much when it comes to questions like this, monthly bandwidth is the right word. We need to know how much bandwidth your site consumes on a monthly basis.

On the other hand you have to contact the x10Hosting stuff directly or make a support ticket about it because serious questions like this won't get solved on the forum.

If x10Hosting is not ready to host your site then try http://mediatemple.net/ They are sure to fulfill all your needs but they don't come cheap.

I replied in Bold.

50 million? what website is it?

It's not just one website.

I'm sure x10's premium plans can hold your site, seeing as they have unlimited bandwith. However, depending on what your site does and how many people use it at one time, you may violate resource usage policys. That is what I thought as well.

In this case, I'd suggest purchasing a VPS (either from here or elsewhere, but don't discuss the "elsewhere" here). A vps could do all the things you probably will ever need, and there aren't restrictions as to how much you use (except for the limits set by the package). I'll look up VPS' thanks for the idea.

Yea it costs a lot to run a hosting company, money to start one is not an issue for me at the moment. Hosting it on my own is the last resort.

I don't make great websites, I have others make my sites...

Thanks for the link to the site. :) Link to the site? I haven't linked anything to anyone regarding this business.

I am sure x10 premium wouldn't have a problem with it.

Also... you sound like you are just blowing hot steam out of your ass. Sorry, I just "gotzta callz em az I seez them!"
I understand what you mean with the last line, but you would be surprised what people you know nothing about have under their sleeves.

Business, financial matters are only held within the corporation.

On the other hand you have to contact the x10Hosting stuff directly or make a support ticket about it because serious questions like this won't get solved on the forum. Just waiting for the heads up from the board, and I'll contact x10 through official non-forums related sources.

As stated previously, I regret to inform you that I have not linked to this business. Yes I understand a dedicated server would be necessary.

Ow...I didn't add that I made a bet with a friend...

For every answer that people gave that was not simple I made 20$ and for every answer I got that was simple I lost 20$....so...lets just say...to you all who replied long...you made me 20$ ...and for slacker 3...I know you slacked when replying but you still lost me $ 20....I've made enough for dinner...thanks for all the help once again.

I will be conducting bets on and off, using this forum I appreciate the help.

I was wondering when John Klyne would reveal the twist. :) :)

I can always count on him to be BSing, and that it will be rather amusing :)

I have to make some extra money on the side, so I might as well have some fun with it : )

But about the site itself, I am still working on it. The 50mill users a month are not a guaranteed maybe 5mill is more realistic for a startup business. I hired 3 script writers from x10hosting they are still working on the whole deal. But according to what we have and know according to stats we project income of $ 1.20 from 1 person/family a year. It's not a great amount but 1mill minimum guaranteed members at $ 1.20 a year will make us enough to pay for expenses, and leave some money on the side for shareholders and full time employees, currently we are at 6 workers, including myself and the VP.

About myself looking for a host, that is true...right now, It is being hosted by the Vice President's, son's hosting company. Just until the site has been tested and re-evaluated, to which it will be launched, as someone above mentioned, in a dedicated server.

Fractalfeline...I'm becoming to predictable haha...I'll change around what I do on the forums, a bit, I'm just doing it for fun but above that, I gather statistics for a hefty monthly income.

Ah, but its fun to try to figure out what your angle is -this time-. I have to admit that I had spent a few moments wondering "What is John Klyne up to? What aspect of human behavior is he testing this time? What's the trick?"

Oddly enough, I was also thinking today how interesting it is that many different cultures come up with the Clever Trickster, like Odysseus or the Coyote or Bugs Bunny, and how we love them even if they are a little squirrelly.

You can always buy a big computer and run a server on it so you dont have to upload to FTP all the time, you can just drag and drop the file into the folder. My friend is doing that and it works just fine... but you might wanna buy a good computer =P

I dont know if it would work with the 50 million viewers but... worth a thought
