On another account through x10 I have a domain with the nameservers pointing to x10, though I registered the domain through namecheap. I need to use an SRV record or an (A) Address record to point it to my minecraft server as well. Since my DNS is through X10 because of the nameservers pointing the DNS here I need to as well have the option to create an A record or an SRV is there any way to do that to point the domain to a minecraft server through x10 DNS?

You should be able to set an A record using the dns options in cpanel (you will need to use the full cpanel x3 theme to access that if you don't already). Not 100% sure you can set srv using the advanced dns editor, if you can't we can sort that for you if you tell us what needs to be added.

First off I want to know if you can enable cpanel x3 theme for me on my other account surviv10 (Name on forums). As surviv10 is my primary account for my x10. Next, so on my account, bill_tamburelli@outlook.com (email used with main account) we have a domain szmc.us could you hook it up for an SRV record on it. The nameservers are pointed to it and all so an SRV record for our Minecraft server. The ip and port are: 162.252.8.81:25698 . The SRV Record has to be done with you due to our nameservers pointing to our website being hosted with you. So if you could please do that SRV record and also make it so we don't need the port to connect to the Minecraft server. So if you could please set up the SRV record to that IP because the nameservers are pointing to our X10 website and the domain is registered through another company. So the DNS is with you and not the other company because of the whole nameserver thing. Anyways it would be awesome if you could switch my bill_tamburelli@outlook.com account to Cpanel x3 and set up that SRV record for me to that IP above and make it so I do not need the port number, just the domain when connecting.

I have switched the account you have under this forum account over to the cpanel x3 theme.
For requests regarding other accounts the request must come from the forum account that is attached to that account so we can confirm that you are indeed the account holder (you really should only have one as per our ToS).

Does this work better on my main account. Also can you set up that SRV Record for me?

Unfortunately we cannot support SRV records on free hosting.

What you can do, now that your domain is linked to your account, is change your nameservers again, and set an A record to the server which you are on.

I've now forcefully changed your account's theme to cPanel x3.

Thank you,

As I said, you can switch back to your registrar's DNS after you set up your domain, and set the record there.

Yes but we need the web hosting you provide. Anny said you guys could sort an SRV record for me though, that's the thing read above.

As I've stated now two separate times, you can change the nameservers now that it's added to your account, and set an A record back to the server and it will work.

Yes but the downside on A Records is they require the port number which is very bad and unproffessional and is hard on players to connect with.

1. Did you buy the domain from a registrar?
2. Does that registrar have DNS tools? Does it allow you to set SRV records?
3. Note the IP of the x10hosting server your account is on.
4. Go to your registrar and switch the DNS from x10hosting to your registrar.
5. Use the registrar's tools to set the A record, SRV record, and anything else you want.

The registrar is NameCheap but since the NameServers are pointed to x10 we need to have an SRV record through you unless there is a way to have the SRV record in the NameCheap DNS as well as having web hosting? Is there a way to have web hosting with you and DNS through NameCheap?

The registrar is NameCheap but since the NameServers are pointed to x10 w

Go to NameCheap
Open your account
There should be a set DNS option that allows you to set which nameservers to use. Currently set to x10hosting. Use this to switch the control to NameCheap's nameservers.

Once the nameservers are set to NameCheap's, you should be able to use their DNS tools to set A records, SRV records, or anything else.

1. Find out the IP for your server. The one where you have whateverItIs.com
2. After you switch nameservers at NameCheap, use their tools to set the A record for whateverItIs.com to the IP you found in #1
3. Your hosting will work. You need the DNS set to x10hosting when you add the domain to your account. To prevent spoofing, etc. That is it. Once the domain is set up on your account, you can change the nameservers. But you are responsible to set the information on those nameservers properly yourself. If you put in the wrong information or fail to set the records you need, that is your fault. Also, if x10hosting changes the IP of your server for any reason, you will have to go back to NameCheap and update the records.
4. Set your SRV or whatever else you need.
