We're still ALIVE ..@ least here in MACEDONIA ;););)

Yeah... Turns out they were only turning it on today.
They are actually going to make the first collisions and get it up to it's full power in about 2 weeks.
So, still got a little more time to live!;)

stats for distributed research, like boinc and things. Majestic12 is crawling the internet to make the world largest search engine. I have crawled around 300 000 links in 2 days now :p. Took 10 GB Bandwidth :p

I can see the Black Sea from my house. Everything else - nothing.

By the way Majestic12 is a poor poor thing in comparing with Google. Google crawls more than a million pages per hour. Money rules. Innovations worth to be used only if you have a lot of money in order to make these innovations commercially profitable.

Please try to remember the mobile phone revolution of 1998. That was the year when everyone could afford themselves to get a "Motorolla". Before this company pushed millions of bucks into the GSM development action - mobiles were just a toy....It took more than 15 years to get this thing into mortal peoples hands.

However, if you have money, then - you need an innovation and the development (production) facility. And a good marketing manager who can sell everything. Muuhahahha Even if you have only the chicken S*h*i**t, marketing can sell it as the cosmetics from the ancient japan geisha sets.

Heh, you're telling me. We first got a cell phone with Sprint, which was a very old Analog/Digital phone but worked good. That's been deactivated for a while now, since we had replaced it with a new phone along with changed carriers to Verizon Wireless. Otherwise, all of our old phones still work, heck even the Nokia still picks up service (but can't see analog anymore since that's turned off in the US :D).

Majestic12 does alot more urls than google.
On 15 hours the user has done 89,479,693 urls, that is a lot more than 1 million urls per hour.

Totally, there is 76,905,993,920 urls in the database. That is nearly 77 billion urls.

http://www.majestic12.co.uk/projects/dsearch/stats.php

They crawl around 200 000 000 urls/day

Ok, but what makes Google so commonly used even it is not the best search. :hahano: Porn search abilities maybe.

I guess http://www.majestic12.co.uk lacks ads. Only few thousands of people know it. In comparing with millions of google users....

oh come on! My mathbook is dumb!

"Calculate without calculator:

1402: √0.0009
1403: cubicroot of 0.125

1404: 10√49+4*cubicroot125-5*(√11)^2
"

All that without calculater :/. Damn hard when you never done it before.

I have never seen that someone makes such calculations in a real life. Only students ) I guess this is just a method to keep people from truth - we are all under the government control. They do not give us a real knowledge. Only the useless number theories.

I wonder, if such calculations were anywhere used (I guess even the LHAC required an easier project calculation requirements)
Edit:
As for the search engines - http://www.infovell.com/technology_deep_web.shtml Berkley university makes a move

I'm in my random mood (again), busy with my work and school lab reports and assignments ... surfing randomly and posting in random threads, lol.

... and how do you increase traffic to your sites ? (random question) :D
