LOL you want to know something stupid that happened today at school? Well of course I was on the internet when Internet Explorer decided to lock up nice and tight. Well, since it wouldn't close after 5 minutes, nor could I get it out of the way or out of the "In front of other windows" view, what's the best thing to do? Go to the Task Manager. So I do that and I get an error saying "The task manager has been disabled by your Administrator" and I'm all "WTF!". I do know my school had issues last year with people using proxies (and a lot of people too) to get onto blocked sites, but why'd they have to go as far as locking out the task manager? It's not as if I can do anything bad in there just as long as they remove the Run... command from the file menu and remove the processes tab, along with lock out Command Prompt, right? I had to end up losing a few minutes worth of work (since it was something that I had to do online for school) and about 5 minutes to reboot the computer to fix IE again.

How lame is that... can't close broken programs via the Processes tab when they don't close after you end the task

All IPs are blocked by my schools router. So I can't FTP my VPS and I can't access hyperVM. And I can't access brandons proxy, seems like it is the only domain blocked lol :p

I can't access Cpanel from school. My school had youtube blocked, but i though that it was removed. (that they took the site blocking system offline)

o_O. Omg. The DNS got updated some hour ago and I already got 24 emails :p

It's wonderful what people send me, pretty interesting to read. Some ask how many mails I am getting from this without leaving a reply email :S. If you guys see this: I get around 25 mails/hour the first hour ;P

Kids.... You have almost every page on the Internet while you have Google. it caches everything. if you want youtube file - please enter its link to Google in order to see the name of the file. Then search again but with this name in the request field and enjoy video mirrors throughout the Internet

Mailed you. You should make after you send the message, a message that says "Thanks for mailing me" with a back button. (or text with url)

My school uses a Novell + Windows Networking Combo. Novell is for the web based "portal" which is usually up, breaks a lot though and for logins onto the PCs. It's not bad software, though it makes me wonder why they couldn't use something that's free like open source stuff and use Windows networking which Macs support. They would've saved a lot of money using open source and stuff built into Windows/Macs. Yeah it complicates things but it's more robust and cost savings. Besides, can't we now a days just use VPNs or FTP to get our files home? HTTP transfer is lame :p

My school also uses Insight Teacher to view our desktops, and I hear that program is evil as it makes us view stuff from the teacher's computer, disables task manager, acts as a keylogger (I've heard), and reboot/shut off our computer. Yet another reason to use the school's Wi-Fi anonymously on your own devices.

I can get on almost any forum I try at school. I can FTP at school, use cPanel at my school, use the VNC Java Viewer (I've opened it a few times to get school files off my home PCs :p) and the like. Not sure if they disabled those lately though.

I can't access Cpanel from school. My school had youtube blocked, but i though that it was removed. (that they took the site blocking system offline)
My school has always had YouTube blocked, however, we found a little work around. I think the school might've blocked this as well, but for a time we could pop out our iPod Touch's and iPhones and use the school's Wi-Fi to watch YouTube videos, and they seriously loaded! This was via the YouTube app, not m.youtube.com . I can use cPanel at my school however.

My school blocks every video site out there, and they also filter the Google cache as well so the cache on any search engine won't help.

Well then.. you have to become the network admin best friend then. Or you may simply destroy the server with something like... Salt water, Tea, Coca cola, Heavy weight, a hammer (to fall).

There's many ways to access a network when it blocks websites ;) I can't say how publicly though there are some legal ways too.

I helped our IT technician at school today and then he asked what I would like as a reward. I asked for the website blocking to be taken off my username and he did it!! Woo hoo, everyone was crowding around my Pc screen at lunchtime watching YouTube :) :)!!
