Re: Whats your Speed?

Today I'm 7201 kb/s download and 514 kb/s upload. That's about the usual for me, in comparison to my last results. Everything feels slow today, but that's probably just due to the sites I'm browsing (facebook is notorious for that) and the fact that I have about five applications open that are all going NOM NOM NOM on my RAM.

Download 2071 kbps, upload 246 kbps. I'm with Virgin Media (UK) and I think my nominal connection speed is 2 megs so I guess 2071 kbps is pretty good. It may have been upgraded to a nominal 8 meg at some point though, in which case the result isn't so great!

Hi,

My connection is 512 Kbs. The test result is 433 Kbs.

Within acceptable range I think.

Cheers.

1.5Mbps? How far away from you in wire length are you from the feed (post your line stats that are from your modem)? You should be getting 3Mbps if your CO can handle it and if you're close enough, or if not, get your line mode switched to ADSL2+. That might give you enough margin to get 3Mbps if your CO can handle it. I have Verizon as well, and living next to the CO, Verizon moved in 2 weeks ago in certain communities the business class 7Mbps speed for $40 instead of $200 to residents to compete with Cable while they move in FiOS, which will be here during the summer, and I'd have to say, for only having 7Mbps DSL, it's awesome. It's pulling nearly 1 Megabyte a second of download. Just for your info.

I found 5 threads with the words "Speed Test" in the title. If you disagree that I should merge these then I will delete all but the one started by Starshine.

The creator of this thread has 1 day to reply to my question !
Oh,

Im sorry I did not look at that,

If you want to merge them I guess thats okay......

Download: 10168 kb/s

Not sure whether this is an error, or whether it's my ISP. I USE DSL!!!
I have a similar thing but alot crapier , I think my ISP cheats. I only think we have the lowest tier dsl
