People hate Microsoft because they see others doing just that. They must feel the urge to fit in online or something of that nature. I'm sure a lot of people have legitimate complaints with Microsoft though, for whatever reasons. I'm just talking about the people who go around acting all - 'ohhh m$ is teh sucks'

I don't know,

I'm currently in love with Microsoft, to be honest with you.

I was an early adopter of the Zune, and now Zune 2's are coming out (which look amazing), but I will be getting all the features (except the hardware) of the new Zunes with a firmware update.

They're also fixing your Xbox 360 for free if the lights around the power button go from green to red. Free shipping both ways also. You can't ask for better support.

They're also allowing OEMs (Dell, HP, and company) to install either Windows XP Media Center or Windows Vista, upon the customers choosing.

I forgot to mention Surface also: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/

You know, the dollar sign in the name was cool in 1998 the first time it was done, but now after 9 years and 50 billion dollar signs, it's a little old and redundant. Maybe you should try, $hell or Chry$ler on for size.

Not to mention, your post is a BAD copy of English.

I don't have a vendetta or anything against Microsoft. True, I did listen to my older brother's complaints, and I do sometimes go to the BadVista / FSF websites and check out the articles for the hell of it, but I'm not going to kill a small puppy every time I see that flag logo somewhere.
As I'm typing this, I'm using Microsoft Windows, granted it's XP not Vista. I also have Ubuntu installed on my system for flexibility, but I've simply grown accustomed to the way Windows looks, and how the filesystem [file extensions] work. I hate the directory structures with XP (f'ing long names with spaces [like 'Documents and Settings'], '\' character for path separator, etc), the basic DOS console, some of the security holes, and a couple other things. Despite all that, it's what I've used.
I'm not in love with Microsoft, and I'm not a staunch free software-only advocate, so my feelings are more or less ambivalent.

Maybe it's from where Bill Gates is giving away most of his personal fortune to charity... Or that Microsoft is a business, businesses are out to make money, and they've done a damn good job being a business.

I like the people who "hate" Microsoft, yet they are sitting there running it 24/7.

If you hate a company why would you support them by running there OS? Wait, I forgot, you need it to "play games", if you truly hated Microsoft you'd stop playing those games to stop using the OS, just my 2¢.

Microsoft is a great company, they give back to the community, a lot of company's don't. You may ask, why are there prices so high? They have 10 million employee's, what do you expect it to be cheap?

Microsoft creates jobs, if Microsoft went out of business, a lot of jobs would be lost, I personally like Microsoft since they hire a lot of people and give back to the community.

Like right here around in my community, the donated new computers to our library (or the town over), I mean as you can see nobody else was doing it, but they spent the money to do it.

Sorry if I went off topic!

Oh, do i have to answer this again?

Eish, Had a whole thread going for 2 weeks on just one reason why this corprate monster is so kak. They are always behind on releases, when they do release it is buggy and in need of no less than 2 services packs. With Vista I now feel like I have less controll over my computer. They change things that arn't broken. They release 10 versions of one OS taking away some vital functions and then only mark the price down by a bit.

I could go on all night, going in to the daily errors I get. The fatal systems dumps and so on.

I wll give you my first boo boo with Vista.
Day 1 get laptop with Vista Basic.
Day 2 install all my software.
Day 3 uninstall all my software due to incompatability.
Day 4 run a disk clean up and then spend the rest of the day trying to get hibernate back.
Day 5 reauier software that suposidly works on vista.
Day 6 stress that windows help is no more and find reg patch for it.
Day 7 e-mail HP with a plead to help get XP drivers(no luck).

A week out of years... hmm.

IF YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH MICROSOFT, I DONT CARE.

The topic is "WHY YOU HATE MS"

if you love it and can't see people complaining, GET THE ****ING OUT OF THIS TOPIC.

I'm not american, i dont NEED to have a 100% perfect english. If you have, CONGRATZ, your the champion! But dont offend me because i said the truth about this ****ty company.

Offend and get offended.

I am not in love with Microsoft, I can understand why some people hate the company, and why others like it. You said far from the truth, to be honest with you, I don't see how a company is horrible when they make money since they're out to make money.

If you realized how much time and effort went into making every piece of software compatible with every piece of hardware available for your operating system, then you would know it's not Microsoft's fault that parts of their software turn out to be buggy. If Apple didn't have a limited hardware range, their software would be equally as buggy. Similar game with Linux, the community makes sure there's software to work with the hardware. Microsoft has to do all the coding for all the hardware themselves.

Offend and get offended? Not sure what that means, but whatever.

Nobody really hates Microsoft, they say it's full of bugs yet it has less bugs then Linux or any of it's modifications. They are just trying to fit in and/or never tried Linux, the ironic thing is that most Microsoft haters are using xp and work with word.

Better than Google? I wouldn't say that. Many of Google's products are better than Microsoft's products (map, search, mail, etc.). But Microsoft definitely dominates on the desktop.

Personally, I don't hate any particular company.

Its like the feuds over consoles. Those who like Playstations and those who like Xbox.
Then there are those that battle over the Wii compared to PS3.
Each system has its Pros and Cons. Just like each company.

Microsoft is liked / hated more than Apple because Microsoft was ( for many, many, many years ) on every computer ever created. Apply came out and created a computer. They were the "New kid on the block" ...
Then Unix came out to, not really to compete, but to get an option other than the same brand name ( Microsoft )

Funny thing is : http://members.fortunecity.com/pcmuseum/dos.htm ... Apple Created D.O.S. ... Microsoft just got a jump on it. So, if we really want to hate anyone - hate Apple for creating DOS which started Microsoft on a roll that controlled millions of computers worldwide. *laughs*

You need to get your timeline in order: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operating_systems_timeline

And MS-DOS is different than DOS. (DOS was around way back in the day, way before Apple in the 1970's) DOS was created by IBM in 1966.

If you hate a company why would you support them by running there OS? Wait, I forgot, you need it to "play games", if you truly hated Microsoft you'd stop playing those games to stop using the OS, just my 2¢.

Problem with this statement:

1) Windows is usually preinstalled on store bought computers. The average consumer can't afford to buy a Mac, or build their own usually, so, they are stuck using Windows, whether they like it or not. I'm one of these. I would love to have a Mac, hell, even Linux, but I don't have the money for a Mac, and I don't have enough computer knowledge to really run Linux, and make it work.

2) "Stop playing their games". You seem to miss the point that most if not all PC games are made to run on Windows. Mac has a few, but no where near as many as Windows offers. So, to stop playing Windows based games is to stop playing PC games in general almost.

However, these are not the reasons I hate MS. Oh no.

I dislike them because they all but shun users who are forced to use their older OS's/Consoles ( Because they can't afford the new stuff just yet ), due to the fact that they basically shut off all support of them once their new OS/Console comes out.

You needn't look any further than with the Xbox/Xbox 360, or their previous OS releases.

Once the 360 came out, the Xbox had it's plug pulled, even though the system probably had another 2-3 years left in it, while the 360 is still suffering from mass hardware failures.

So, if they pulled the plug on the original Xbox to save money...where's that money going? Because, from the way things look, it's not going to fix the 360's problems.

Same for Windows. They pulled the plug on 98 when ME/2000 came out, even though millions were still using it, and couldn't upgrade yet. They're getting ready to do the same with XP ( If they haven't already. )

No more driver updates, no more tech support, nothing. I ask you, what kind of company does that to it's users?

Unless you've go9t money to burn, and can update to new OS's frequently, or you just so happened to buy a new computer that had the latest OS on it, then MS is going to burn you.

So is Apple.

Though the reason why people and to some extent I dislike Microsoft is because of everyone's bringing up in little socialist background where everything is expected to be cheap. People with knowledge and skills are supposed to earn proportionately higher profit but not extraordinary profit.

So when Microsoft develops (may not be prefectly but atleast workable) something which we have just thought or would have thought.

Other aspect is abundance and addictiveness of it. This dwarf everything else.

So it is more of love-hate relationship.
