The USA is the strongest in the World, The Top, an example for the rest of the world.

I read on a blog, that said Bush said, that the USA is hard to manage, financially and in every other thing like that. Adding that if some things are not separated many other things will suffer (when saying things I mean, people/states/cities..anything). I am not sure how accurate that blog was, but....lets hope Bush, doesn't want a separated America as well.

I highly doubt this would happen here in the USA. People are not as motivated as they were in the 1800's to go fight a war to become a separate country. And like many said before this won't happen with out a civil war.

I have read that if anything, California is probably one of the only states that can function positively without the rest of the USA, California and about 3 other states ( Alaska, if they use trade) and NY not NYC, but the entire NY State.

I don't like the oppressive gov either, glad to hear others share the same views.

well, not happening in our lifetime COULD be a bad thing. I mean, maybe we could do something to stop it, where as the next generation might not care. So if it happens in our lifetime, maybe we could keep the aftermath from being too great?

'Well yeah, if we weren't in a recession.
The recession is causing California to eventually become bankrupt because of all the last laws that Bush is publishing (making it more expensive for agriculture, state taxes must be mandatory online, etc.,)
But I agree, California would be a really good state by itself. It could even take Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington to be the United Pacific States!

I think empires fall because the centre [the imperial government] loses the will and drive to keep it. Sheer size can weaken it unless it evolves and keeps its institutions alive. Sometimes political theories in the centre just undo it.Like the socialists in Britain after the war wiped out the British Empire.

My theory about the fall of the British Empire was that it was destroyed earlier by the invention of the electic telegraph, and later the phone. Before that the central government did not have the means to control what went on overseas, and local adventurers just pushed the frontiers outwards. Remember that the original empire builders were Trading Companies, with the imperial flag scrabbling along in the background, and then trying top raise local taxes to pay for its forces - and we know how that went wrong.

Russia today remains a centralised governmental body, and seems to oppress its big olipopolist entrepreneurs because the central government fears the oligarchs are taking power from them.

Will America split by 2010 - No. Niot unless it tries REALLY REALLY hard.

By the way why would Eastern America want to join the EU- there isn't even a democratic parliament which controls the government. What the people of a country vote down the new centralist constitution, they are told to vote again and this time to vote yes. Look at Ireland today.

How is America different from Serbia...I don't mean to sound mean or vulgar in anyway, if so, sorry in advance.

Not sure on the size of serbia but if it's in Europe chances are it is as big as one of our states, many the size of Pennsylvania, or smaller. The way that animation of yours shows serbia got taken over by....it is as if it lost it's "counties little by little".....America is too, infrastructure, and one part relays on the other parts or states. America and it's United States are too converse and intricut compaired to Serbia, which had I think 2 parties in particular....not sure on this but, serbs against the albanians or serbs against the muslims......religion or parties such as this will definitely not bring down the USA as it may do harm to Serbia.

The US is made and will hopefully stay this way...free for all cultures, within a set of laws...free or all religions within a set laws.

US, is the worlds leading economy, though it is also the WORLDS most indebted Country....we are bigger then serbia, and thus do have MORE Enemies and do have MORE FRIENDS, will aid be given to the US...more then what aide was given to Serbia....other countries NEED the USA's Econemy to exist for theirs to function properly, Serbia does have relations but I am sure it does not have relations with all countries.....not sure where I am getting at right now....but

overall....serbia is decreasing in power for a number of reasons...this guys prediction for the USA's fall is not based on anything Serbia may be experiencing right now.

Not be confused, Serbia is just one part of that picture (the red one, the whole thing was Yugoslavia). It was not taken over by anybody. It's like the US states decided to brake apart from unity with the others.

It's a little more complicated that that. We (Serbs) don't have anything against albanians or muslims. It was just some stupid politics that led to all the wars.

As for the economy in 1992 we set a new world record for inflation. It was 19810,2% but we survived. All I want to say is don't worry :biggrin: .

I agree. Serbia is not experiencing nothing like that know. You can see from the animation that most of the breaking took place in 90s.

Ouch, yea I definitely don't know my history....didn't meant to be...with that post, I wasn't even sure if that was Serbia...great way for a guy like myself to make an argument...

Ow...that image you posted...is pretty good in a way to use as an example...if this ever does start...that picture would demonstrate how the US would break a apart..the south leaving first, (many states already down there tried to leave) the middle northern states second, (some have tried or wanted to leave the union as well...the west, would be 3rd to leave, and east would be last, since ALMOST every one of the 13 original colonies are located there and fought for this country there. Hawaii, would be taken by the east of Asia's major countries (or country)...and Alaska would go directly to Russia since they are only what...10 miles apart or less?

It's the governement that makes the two different. Serbia can fall apart alright and they just get them selves some new tyrants and everything is alright. If the U.S. splits like that, our government HQ is here on the east coast, that stays with us. Every where else has nothing. Each of the divisions would have to draw up a new constitution. Do all the law making work and database organization in a couple of months that has taken our country 200 years to do. And each one would have to build their own military. That is totally impossible. Thus, if the U.S. breaks up, it is then which ever country gets here first gets us. So, if China is he first to claim us, the U.S. becomes chinese. Well, there goes the U.S. if that happens. America will not survive a break up. United we stand. Divided we fall. All Americans should be familiar with those two sentences spoken by Benjamin Franklin, one of our Founding Fathers.

You see then, if America splits, America ceases to exist. All our laws will go away. We'll have to adopt the laws, customs, maybe even language of those who claim us. Our flag will go. We'll have to swear allegiance to the chinese flag, or who ever gets here first.

In short, if America splits, America will be no more.
