After discovering that the X10 servers are named after brands of Vodka, we felt relieved to discover that we were not alone in giving our computers names.

Our motely collection of repaired roadside surplus lovingly refered to as the 'the kids' (because like children they get sick on occasion, are always demanding new stuff and and need attention) are..

Hector, Sophie, Sid, Des, Shaun, Sophie Jnr, and a trio of iMacs dubbed Huey, Dewey and Lewy.

So fess up you geeks, what's yours called?

my desktop and laptop isn't named, but my server, vps, and testing VM's have names.

vps: Ocelot http://ocelot.stormraidergames.com/
Windows server: Caracal http://caracal.stormraidergames.com/
VM: Serval http://serval.stormraidergames.com/ (this won't load for anyone else because only local records point to the right IP, which is a private IP)
(unused but previously used for a VM router) lynx

a cookie to whoever knows what those are "WITHOUT" looking them up

Felines? Oddly enough, I've heard of ocelots being domesticated as pets. Hell, I modeled my Vah Shir in EQ after a lynx. Do I get a cookie?

I named my laptop Tesla. My fiancee and I named our LAN server Doomgate (mwahahahahaha). I have yet to name my external hard drive... it seems to lack a personality at the moment, but I'm sure one will emerge.

I newer thought about giving it a name. Guess I'm not good enough to be a geek :)

... but I like the idea of naming it buy the brands of Vodka or other highly toxic drinks :) I might call my Jose by the excellent Jose Cuervo tequila.

Which PC are you talking about on my network? I have 12 of them.

My gaming PC is called The Pawn Machine. It's literally a machine full of ownage.
My laptop is called StickyBombs (TF2 reference).
My retired laptop is called Teh_rock
My Linux router which is an Intel Atom PC is named Destiny (it displays it's name in the 3 seconds in which you see it's command line during boot. It's online in 6 seconds from a cold boot). This name came from the name of a ship in Stargate Universe.
My retired Linux router (now taken apart) was called SmithNet Hub. Nothing too interesting.
An old AMD K6 machine I have sitting around is called Molassor.
A VERY old Intel 486 machine I have is called The Artifact. It's so old, it's not even on my network and is in the basement collecting dust.

I have a bunch of other machines sitting around on the network as well, if you'd like to know those.
