It should be quick, but it did take a little while for one of my test accounts. That one does have a custom domain that I have on my VPS (possibly slow due to my end though) rather then one of the major email providers.

Have you checked if you got the email, could have gone to spam? The massage isn't saying the email isn't in the system but rather that if it is a reset will be sent, and since yours is in the system the mail should be sent properly. @garrettroyce can you check the log?

I figured it was likely that due to its content. And yes a blank page could definitely have been caused by being over quota. Diskspace has been increased.

I could increase, there is however one rather large folder that at first glance looks like it is used for backups/storage of wordpress plugins, called PL. If you can explain that one and it actually has legitimate use in that form, I can absolutely increase diskspace one step.

@garrettroyce: I think you have more insight on this then me. @learnsco: I can see the account exists properly in the system so I can't really figure out why it would not send the reset email for you.

I have removed the files/folders in .trash, you are now under quota so the above issue with wp-config.php should be sorted although you would likely need to re-upload the file
