Are you using the cPanel password you signed up with? Try changing your cPanel password at the Account Panel (http://x10hosting.com/panel.php) Login with your forum username/password and click on the Change cPanel Password on the right. Give that a go, and let us know if you still can't login...

As it is already a shortcut, you'd have to remove the functionality of one of your keys to get a 'one keystrocke CTRL+C' Control C/V aren't hard to type quickly plus if you made a designated copy/paste key, you'd probably hit it accidentally a lot.

FTP's dedicated port is 21. This will not change. I don't think Secure FTP will work so you are going to have to use cPanel's File Manager.

If Joomla's backup component takes too much resources, you aren't going to be able to use it hence the alternate solution. For questions regarding Joomla's components, those should be placed under Scripts & 3rd Party Apps.

You can backup your files through File Manager. Make a new directory, select all your files and copy them into that directory. Compress the directory and move it to your home directory (outside of public_html). To backup databases, look at this tutorial

Can you try clearing your cache and trying it again just to make sure it isn't a local problem?

It says basic but it is really intermediate, which allows the mail function. I'm not sure what else could be causing this. You might want to post your script's code in the Programming Help forum so we can take a look if it is a script problem.
