Awesome job Corey. You guys have really gotten a lot accomplished, and I hope the other members who were complaining about the down time come to realize just how great of support they are getting for a free service.

Keep up the good work x10!

What is Stoli's new IP? I need to know it for my domain.

EDIT: I'm probably in those last 700, right? My cPanel name is zacwal. The cPanel port 2082 on stoli.x10hosting.com gives me a login error.

I just signed up to x10 right after this all started, so I'm still waiting for my account to be created.

But I have learned something from following the issue up close: when this is all sorted out, I am certain I will have a high quality service and I'll enjoy it. Plus it'll be all free, woohoo !

Why ? Because I can see that you guys obviously work as hard as you can with what you have to get it to work great. And I'm sure it does work great when there's no problem like this (which don't happen that often from what I understood)

I even read somewhere that you were considering supporting Ruby on Rails soon after all this crap is sorted out, and I am very glad about that too ;) That's the next thing I was planning to learn.

Once my account is activated, I will start my little website slowly (I'm a beginner "webmaster", still learning), and then if it ever grows "big" enough (or more like, "too big" to stay with a free plan) I'll be sure to get started with a paid plan here.

Until then, I wish for you all to get to sort everything out smoothly and without too many further problems... And thank you very much for giving this all away ;)

Oh, and to all of those who are rude/mean/aggressive to the staff, just go learn some respect. Or better yet, start your own FREE service, and you'll understand what it feels like :p

dizzy you wont need to change your ip for the domain just make sure it is on ns1.x10hosting and the other nameserver you just need to change all scripts to use localhost again not mysql.x10hosting.com

I think Corey has to do all the transfers thru his home connection so from one server thru his home then to another, thats the only thing I can think of that would make the copying take so long lol. If you just signed up for x10hosting I think new accounts go onto cossacks which still hasn't been worked on.

@Nexhunter: I can't. I use my domain company's nameservers and loop it through Stoli's IP address so I can maintain my CNAME and MX records.

IP will stay the same. Looks like named is messed up on Stoli which stopped it from syncing the correct DNS records to the cluster. Figures, just another service I need to re-install. I am doing that now.

There are still a few hundred accounts left, seems like it waited until the end to do a lot of the larger ones. I still have 5 concurrent transfers running.

Why it takes so long:
Account is copied to a cpmove folder
Account is then tar\gzipped
Account is then transferred to the new server
Account is then unpackaged
Account is then recreated
All files and databases are restored from the package.

It takes a while to transfer a single account, especially the 2GB ones. It can take over an hour depending how many files that person has and how large their databases are.

How many files on a site would be considered a large site
